Irvine-based Epicor Software Corp. on Wednesday upped its outlook for the rest of the year on expected deals with a handful of large customers.
The business software maker said it expects profits for 2007 to be $30 million to $31 million, higher than its previous forecast of about $29.8 million.
The company held its sales outlook at about $433 million to $437 million.
“A couple of large contracts were expected to close in the second quarter, but were delayed into the third quarter,” Chief Executive George Klaus said. “The retail contracts that slipped are expected to close later this week and we are expecting a solid second half.”
The company’s rosier outlook comes on the heels of second-quarter results.
Including stock option expenses, a write-down on debt and other charges, Epicor’s profits were about $6 million, down 11% from a year earlier. After charges, Epicor’s $12 million in profits were in line with expectations.
The company saw sales of about $106 million, up 6% from a year earlier. Analysts were looking for about $108 million in revenue.
Epicor got a $1.3 million boost in sales from its May buy of Australian software reseller Professional Advantage, the company said.
