Slumping Taiwanese Contract Chipmakers See Subtle Bounce

Taiwan’s TSMC and UMC, the two biggest contract chipmakers, posted a year-on-year fall in May sales on Friday but extended a recovery from their first-quarter lows, buoyed by rising demand for PCs and consumer gadgets.
