Flash memory products maker SimpleTech Inc. upped its projected fourth-quarter earnings and revenue on stronger-than-expected sales at the Santa Ana-based company.
The company now sees profits as high as $8.5 million, up from $7.6 million forecast in November.
SimpleTech sees fourth-quarter sales of $105 million to $107 million for the fourth quarter. Last month, SimpleTech forecast sales of $95 million to $100 million.
The company, which makes memory boards for computers and flash memory for consumer electronics, has found a niche in flash memory for businesses.
Aerospace companies, medical device makers and others use flash in their sensitive products as a more reliable way to store data.
The company, with a recent market value of $480 million, saw its shares close up nearly 18% on Monday.
