Send in the Clowns
Commentary
by Rick Reiff
Isn’t it rich, is it unfair?
Me here at last on the ground, and nothing in the air!
Send in the clowns!
Isn’t it bliss, don’t you approve?
One who keeps travelin’ around,
But the lines don’t move!
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns!
Just when I stopped, my air-travel sorrow,
Finally knowin’ the answer was planes at El Toro,
Making my arguments with my usual flair
Sure of my lines, but nobody cared!
Don’t you love farce?
My fault I fear!
I thought that you’d want what I want
I’m sorry, my dear!
Where are the clowns? Send in the clowns . . .
Don’t bother . . . they’re here!
Isn’t it rich, isn’t it queer?
Losing my airport this late in my career!
Where are the clowns? Send in the clowns!
The Great Park is here!
