The Orange County Register promoted Kathy Weiermiller from senior vice president, CFO and CIO to senior vice president of operations.
Weiermiller, a Huntington Beach resident, will be responsible for increasing the growth of the company’s newspaper, magazine, and publishing businesses. All of the Register’s production, packaging and distribution functions and associates will report to her.
Weiermiller replaces John Walsh, who took a position with the Philadelphia Inquirer in September.
“We are strategically planning to increase our consumer base, ” said Weiermiller. “The Register is anticipating increased growth in the coming years.”
Before joining the Register in 1995, Weiermiller spent five years as a senior executive of finance and planning for Mars Inc. Prior to that, she held management positions in finance and strategic planning at PepsiCo.
Weiermiller, who holds a BA from Northeast Louisiana University and an MBA from the University of Dallas, is an avid golfer, who along with her husband, Mike, are members of the SeaCliff County Club in Huntington Beach.
