The 314-room Radisson Maingate in Anaheim is set to be acquired by Red Lion Hotels Corp. for undisclosed terms.
The hotel is located on Harbor Boulevard, across from Disneyland. The deal is set to wrap up in mid-October.
Spokane, Wash.-based Red Lion plans to spend $10 million on renovations to the hotel, including flat panel TVs and granite countertops in guest rooms.
The acquisition is part of Red Lion’s strategy to re-enter the Southern California market. The hotel will provide “a strong base for further expansion in the region,” said Arthur Coffey, Red Lion chief executive.
Red Lion currently owns 52 hotels in the U.S. and Canada.
The hotel formerly was owned and operated by Lawrence, Kan.-based Lindquist & Craig Hotels & Resorts Inc. Lindquist & Craig has been selling off hotels since declaring bankruptcy in late 2004.
Lindquist’s only other California property is the Doubletree Hotel Westwood Los Angeles.
