The Tipton Family Trust acquired a 17,594-square-foot multi-tenant building at 3401 Katella Ave. in Los Alamitos from Fisher Properties for $2 million. David Cox of Ashwill Associates represented the trust. Mike Austin of Sperry Van Ness represented Fisher.
The U.S. Navy bought a 764-acre parcel in Yuma, Ariz., from Boeing Realty Corp. for $5.4. million. The Navy represented itself. Jim McLaughlin of Cushman Realty Corp.’s Orange County office represented Boeing Realty.

A partnership led by Sanderson J. Ray Development Co. acquired the 151,445-square-foot Santa Margarita Town Center in Rancho Santa Margarita from Koll-Santa Margarita Retail Venture II for $22 million. Cedarwoods Business Park LP purchased the 80,288-square-foot Cedarwoods Business Park at 2461-2495 E. Orangethorpe Ave. in Fullerton from a private family trust for $4.3 million. Jack Faris of Voit Commercial Brokerage’s Anaheim Metro office and Alan Pekarcik and Tyson Theel of Voit’s Irvine office represented both parties.
Turner Development Corp. bought the 16-building, 237,369-square-foot San Juan Capistrano Business Park from Birtcher Real Estate Group for $22.7 million. Rob Socci, Louis Tomaselli and Mitch Zehner of Voit Commercial Brokerage’s Anaheim office represented both parties.
LEASES
Cam Commerce Solutions leased a 26,000-square-foot facility on Newhope Street in Fountain Valley from Tillotson Corp. The five-year lease was valued at $1.8 million. Jim Snyder of Lee & Associates represented Cam Commerce Solutions. Bob Goodmanson and Brian DeRevere of CB Richard Ellis represented Tillotson.
Boeing Co. leased two buildings totaling of 98,000 square feet, at 15460 and 15480 Laguna Canyon Road in Irvine Spectrum, from The Irvine Company.
OTHER
The 245-unit The Colony apartment community in Newport Beach received an award for excellence from the Urban Land Institute. The apartment, designed by McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners, was developed and is owned by The Irvine Company’s apartment division. This year’s ULI winning projects were selected from 101 entries.
Irvine-based RBF Consulting was chosen to complete a comprehensive update of the city of Placentia’s general plan. The project will include reviewing and revising the housing, land use and circulation elements and preparing an environmental impact report.
Robbins Jorgensen Christopher, Irvine, completed the 8,500-square-foot Central Plant at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The $11.1 million project includes a cooling tower, chillers and pumps, and sends chilled and heated water to buildings throughout the campus. The two-story, 40,000-square-foot Grand Central Building in Santa Ana, also designed by Robbins Jorgensen Christopher won two awards last year.
The Capital Markets Group of Burnham Real Estate Services arranged $21.4 million in financing for the 250-room Doubletree Hotel in Santa Ana. Scott Calder, Joel Gruber and Barry Nicholas of Burnham’s Orange County office secured the financing.
Shea Properties, Aliso Viejo, began construction on the third and final phase of the 258,000-square-foot Seacliff Village shopping center in Huntington Beach. The $45 million project is a joint venture of Shea Properties and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund. In addition, a new 23,942-square-foot Staples store at Seacliff Village will open this month.
