QLogic Q1 Sales, Profits Increase

Aliso Viejo-based QLogic Corp. posted double-digit increases in sales and profits for the company’s quarter ended June 30, the company said Wednesday after the close of trading.

The maker of data networking devices posted record revenue of $158.8 million in the quarter, a 22% increase from a year ago and slightly beating analysts’ expectations.

Operating profit came in at $63.5 million, an increase of 32% from the year ago quarter’s $48.3 million.

Net income for the June quarter was $41.8 million, an increase of 30% versus a year earlier.

QLogic makes host bus adapters, among other things. Host bus adapters sit inside a storage computer and link up with other storage computers to create massive storage networks.

The company didn’t give guidance for the current quarter in its earnings release, but was expected to in a conference call Wednesday afternoon.

Shares of QLogic were off 2% in afterhours trading.
