QLogic Corp., the Aliso Viejo-based maker of electronics for data storage networks, nabbed a new chief financial officer from Newport Beach chipmaker Mindspeed Technologies Inc.
QLogic had been looking to replace longtime CFO Tony Massetti, who stepped down a few months ago.
Simon Biddiscombe, 40, is set to join the company at the end of the month.
His most recent position was as CFO at Mindspeed, where he has served since 2003.
QLogic has seen a lot of changes in its upper ranks.
Last month, president and chief operating officer Jeff Benck stepped down abruptly over disagreements about when he would become chief executive.
Benck was hired a year ago as part of a planned succession for the top spot, which has been held by Chief Executive H.K. Desai for 14 years.
