ARCHITECTURE

The Irvine-based architectural planning and interior design firm McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners has promoted five executives in it Southern California headquarters. The company has promoted Darin Schoolmeester to senior associate partner; John Garakian, Salvatory Fulwider, Michael Flanagan to associate partners; and Kurtiss Kusumoto to associate.

Irvine-based Thomas P. Cox: Architects Inc. recently hired Michael Cecconi, Dan Schmid and Tim Boland as project managers/job captains. The trio will oversee multiple phases of development.

RRM Design Group hired Don Iler as its public safety group lead in the firm’s San Juan Capistrano office.

BANKING

Dean Parsons has joined United California Bank as vice president and relationship manager in the Newport Beach office of the bank’s real estate industries division.

COMMUNICATIONS

Verizon Wireless Inc. has appointed Marla Goodwyn to serve as director of sales for the company’s Southern California region based in Irvine. Goodwyn most recently served as the director of sales for AT & T; Wireless Service in Cerritos.

CONSTRUCTION

Irvine-based Opus West Corp. has promoted Jeffery Dick-erson vice president of construction for its Southern California office. Dickerson has been with Opus for seven years. He will oversee the company’s design/build projects in Southern California.

Peter Gregory has joined Roel Construction Co.’s Irvine office as project superintendent. Gregory previously worked for PCM in Los Angeles, and currently is working on Honda of Oxnard, a $1.8 million remodel project.

GIFTING

Patrice M. Poidmore, former chairman of the Guilds of the Orange County Performing Arts Center has been appointed the Center’s director of gift planning. As director of gift planning she will work with individuals who wish to make deferred gifts of their estate plan. She was also owner and president of PMP & Associates, a consulting firm for non-profit organizations.

INSURANCE

Richard L. Padgett has been named senior vice president and director of technical services at J. Gregory Brown & Company Inc., a Newport Beach insurance services company. He has more than 20 years insurance experience and was a vice president and Southern California manager of Aon Risk Services technical services department.

NONPROFIT

Mariposa Women’s Center, a nonprofit agency based in Orange, appointed Kirby Dean as president of its board of directors. Dean is the co-founder and president of Recovery Options Corp., a call center for people seeking counseling and treatment.

Garden Grove-based Orangewood Chil-dren’s Foundation added three members to its board of directors: Joseph Eckroth, senior vice president and chief information officer for Mattel Inc.; Bruce Fetter, president of St. John Knits International Inc.; and Tim J. Ryan, general manager of the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

The Balboa Perform-ing Arts Theater Foundation has hired Jill Forbath as marketing/operations manager. Forbath has more than 20 years of experience in both business and theater operations.
