JBZ Architecture + Planning, Newport Beach, promoted Tu Hoang Do to senior associate and director of residential design. Previously, Do was an associate and senior designer. He joined JBZ in 1996 as a senior designer and was named an associate in 1999.
Edmond Classen has been named an associate at Perkowitz + Ruth Architects in Long Beach. Classen will serve as specifications writer, handling project manuals. He joined Perkowitz in 1998 as job captain and holds a bachelor’s in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

First American Corp., Santa Ana, has named Thomas Huffman vice president of the company’s interactive division. Huffman joined First American in 1997 as chief information officer for the company’s appraisal group. He will oversee First American’s e-commerce initiatives. Additionally, the company has appointed Lilith D. Sanchez senior vice president and manager of the UCC Insurance division. Sanchez joined First American in 2000 when she was appointed vice president and production manager.
Chris Bloom will join Rancho Santa Margarita-based Orange County Computer Services LLC’s corporate sales division. Bloom will handle sales of networking and computer services to small to midsize companies in the South County market. Previously, Bloom was a senior account executive for Smart Modular Technologies Inc. in Fremont.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Orange County Community Foundation, Irvine, has named Julie Hill and Michael Danzi to its Board of Governors. Hill is president of the Hill Companies and Danzi is the founder, Chairman and CEO of US Laboratories. The Foundation’s purpose is to encourage, support and facilitate philanthropy in the community.

Newport Beach’s Tax and Financial Group added five associates to its team. Michael Kelly was hired as disability income sales consultant. Kelly previously worked for Mutual & United of Omaha, and Paul Revere and Provident insurance companies. Danielle Dawson was named financial consultant. Dawson most recently worked as an outside sales representative for Ernest Paper. Lee McConnell was appointed associate and has worked investment banking and business consulting. Brian Duran also was named associate and previously was a sales representative for Good Guys Inc., the electronics retailer. Kelly Bothwell was named recruiting and selections coordinator. Bothwell will find, screen and interview potential firm candidates.
HEALTHCARE
Darren Dirks, an Anaheim resident, has joined Healthpoint, a DFB Pharmaceuticals affiliate, as western divisional sales manager for the company’s infection prevention division. Previously Dirks was with Kimberly-Clark Corp.’s professional healthcare division. In his new role, Dirks will recruit and develop the western division sales force for infection prevention products.
Newport Beach plastic surgeon M. Hakeem has been named to the board of advisers of the Newport Beach-based Anti-Aging Institute, which tracks issues related to longevity and health. Hakeem also has offices in Santa Ana and Lakewood.
Brenda Zimmerman has been named branch manager for Orange office of First Assist, a medical staffing company. She previously worked for staffing companies providing technical, financial and other workers.

Irvine attorney Jeffrey Lewis has been elected to the board of governors of the Loyola Law School Alumni Association. Lewis, a business litigator with the Enterprise Counsel Group, is a graduate of the school.
Morrison & Foerster has hired seven associates in the litigation and business departments at its Orange County office: Michelle Hertzog, Eric Olson, Breana Frankel Famularo, Eleanor Johnson, Wendy Kottmeier, Melissa Peters and Monica Vu.
Hertzog holds a law degree from the University of Southern California School of Law.
Olson spent several years in the firm’s Los Angeles office and got his law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
Frankel Famularo received her law degree from UC Berkeley.
Johnson got her law degree from Villanova Law School.
Kottmeier received her law degree from Hastings College of the Law.

The Angels, a support group for the Performing Arts program at Mission Viejo’s Saddleback College, has elected its executive board members for 2001-2003. Mission Viejo resident Jack Jakubowski was elected president.

Tara Cucci has been named assistant account executive at Morgan Marketing & Public Relations in Irvine. Cucci previously was account coordinator handling work for clients such as Panda Express, Marie Callender’s and others. Cucci holds a degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from California State University, Fullerton.

Equity Office Properties Trust has promoted David A. Helfand to executive vice president and chief investment officer. Helfand was previously executive vice president, business development. Additionally, Peter H. Adams has been promoted to executive vice president, strategic planning and operations. Adams was formerly senior vice president, strategic planning and operations. Both Helfand and Adams will work out of the company’s Orange office.
