Long Beach-based Farmers & Merchants Bank named Bryan Gutierrez as assistant vice president at its Orange office. Gutierrez previously was business banking manager at Irvine-based Westcorp’s Western Financial Bank.

Lisa Fields was appointed as vice president of sales working from the Newport Beach office of San Francisco-based Ipsh!net Inc., which runs a service that alerts people to events via their wireless phones. Fields most recently was director of sales for Irvine-based go2 Directory Systems.

Orange County United Way elected six people to its board: Duane Allen, vice president and premier banking manager of Orange County at Wells Fargo Bank; Bill Balfour, senior vice president and manager of Southern California metro homebuilder division at Bank of America; Paul Crowley, tax director at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP; Michael A. Johnson, vice president of marketing and product development at Automobile Club of Southern California; Todd McDonald, partner, KPMG LLP; and Rosemary Turner, district manager, South California District, United Parcel Service of America Inc.
Saddleback Memorial Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, appointed Douglas S. Myers to its board. Myers owns a tax practice and currently serves on the advisory board of the Orange County Management Association, affiliated with Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business.

Libby Frantz joined Irvine-based land brokerage Whittlesey Doyle as an associate broker. Frantz formerly was an associate in the office properties group of Colliers International Property Consultants Inc. in Reno.
BrooksAmerica Mortgage Corp., a wholesale mortgage banker based in Santa Ana, hired Ed Plata as head of the specialty lending division at its Santa Ana office. Plata most recently was assistant vice president of production for Countrywide Financial Corp.’s Countrywide Home Loans Inc.
Samantha Rodriguez was promoted from assistant purchasing agent to purchasing agent at Irvine-based Granite Homes.
RESTAURANTS
Aliso Viejo-based Johnny Rockets Group Inc. appointed Mike Dobrota as senior vice president of development. Dobrota has served in management-level development positions at several large companies.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Roland DGA Corp.’s color products division added Tony Miller to its product management team as product manager for inkjet devices. The company also promoted two people within the marketing communications department: Cindy Cao to corporate event coordinator and Marisela Juarez to marketing coordinator.
