ACCOUNTING

Richard Squar joined Santa Ana-based Glenn M. Gelman & Associates as its tax and litigation support director. Squar is the founder of New-port Beach-based Squar & Clarke, which later grew into Newport Beach-based Squar, Milner, Peterson, Miranda & Williamson LLP. More recently he has worked as an expert tax witness and lecturer at Golden Gate University.

Virginia-based Argy, Wiltse & Robinson P.C. hired Jay Chung as an audit partner. Chung, who will be based in Newport Beach, will start the firm’s West Coast practice. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in public and private industry accounting to the firm, including his work with New York-based PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Chicago’s Grant Thornton LLP.

FINANCE

Irvine-based C.K. Cooper & Co. hired William Porter as managing director of trading and Devin Arkison as a director of sales on the West Coast. Porter will be responsible for expanding trading activities for the investment bank and most recently was the director of trading at Roth Capital Partners LLC in Newport Beach. Arkison will manage institutional accounts in the West Coast region.

FOOD

Irvine-based Golden State Foods Corp. promoted Steve Becker from corporate vice president of human resources to senior vice president of human resources. Becker will continue to oversee all aspects of human resources including labor relations, continuing education and communications. Prior to joining Golden State Foods, he spent more than 20 years with Georgia-based Unisource Worldwide Inc., a paper distributor.

LAW

Buchalter Nemer hired lawyer Kambiz Izadi at its Irvine office. He will advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and proxy fights. He also will be a shareholder in the firm. Kambiz most recently has worked with clean technology companies and investors.

MEDIA

Mariam Khosravani joined the community advisory board for KOCE-TV. Khosravani currently is the executive director of Coastline Community College Foundation, which raises money for the community college district’s three campuses in Orange County. The community advisory board is responsible for providing community input regarding programming and production decisions for the Huntington Beach-based Public Broadcasting Service station.

NONPROFIT

Joan Horton was named executive director of the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center. Horton will manage a yearly budget of $1.8 million and be responsible for the center’s daily operation, recruiting volunteers and fundraising. She previously worked as vice president and director of curriculum for California School of Financial Education in Long Beach.

WisePlace, a homeless shelter in Santa Ana, added Roopam Runyon, Kimberly Kepler and Jo Anne Painter to its board. Runyon is an assistant vice president and senior financial adviser for Merrill Lynch & Co., part of Bank of America Corp., in Costa Mesa. Kepler is a lawyer with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in Costa Mesa. Painter is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Pacific Enterprise Bank in Irvine.

PRINTING

Irvine-based Profession-al Reprographics Servi-ces Inc. added Julie Cunningham to its sales department. Cun-ningham has more than 20 years of experience working in the digital publishing and blueprinting industry, including work with OCB Repro-graphics and Universal Reprographics.

REAL ESTATE

Lake Forest-based Professional Commun-ity Management of California Inc. hired Joely Mazzotti as general manager of Woodbury in Irvine. She will be responsible for administration and the condominium complex’s finances. Mazzotti previously was director of client services at Villa

Park Landscape, based in Orange.

RESTAURANTS

Lake Forest-based Del Taco LLC, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based Sagittarius Brands Inc., hired Chip Bialzak and Chris Carr in its franchise support services division. Bialzak will be a senior franchise business consultant and Carr will be a franchise business consultant. Bi-alzak previously held a similar position at Dom-ino’s Pizza Inc. Carr previously worked at Pizza Inn Inc. and Applebee’s Services Inc., part of DineEquity Inc.

TECHNOLOGY

Fountain Valley-based D-Link Systems Inc., part of Taiwan’s D-Link Corp., hired Kevin Lahm as an associate vice president. Lahm will lead the company’s field system engineers in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining D-Link, he was western region sales engineering manager for Massachusetts-based 3Com Corp. The company also hired Betsy Roddy and Terry West as senior marketing executives.
