Arthur Anderson tax partner R. Scott Mund has moved to the firm’s Irvine office to lead the international tax services practice. Mund has 14 years of experience with technology, manufacturing, retail and distribution and entertainment industries.
Stonefield Josephson Inc. added Robert J. Miranda as a shareholder and officer in its Irvine office. Prior to joining the firm, Miranda was a director with both Deloitte Consulting’s West region practice and Deloitte & Touche’s OC practice.
Stacey Matthew joined Deloitte & Touche’s OC multistate services group as a senior manager. Matthew, who was most recently a tax manager at another Big Five firm, will consult with clients on sales and use tax issues.
ARCHITECTURE
Loring Cruz, an architectural and interior design firm in Long Beach, hired Bruce Campbell as principal of project management. The 30-year industry veteran comes to the firm from Gensler, where he was vice president, director of project management. Among the firm’s current projects are a 65,000-square-foot facility for Conexant in Irvine and Pacific Life headquarters in Foothill Ranch.
Kaufman Meeks + Partners’ Newport Beach office promoted David Gilmour and John Garrison to partners. Gilmour, who has been with the firm for seven years, was previously vice president of planning; Garrison, a six-year company veteran, was vice president of production.
Bloodgood Sharp Buster Architects and Planners Inc., Irvine, hired Donnie McGrath and Arlene Edjourian as project managers. In addition, Ben Gualberto joined the firm as job captain. McGrath will be responsible for defining individual projects while Edjourian will focus on projects related to single-family detached housing. Gualberto will oversee design development and the management of construction documents.
BANKING AND FINANCE
The First American Corp., Santa Ana, named Timothy P. Sullivan senior vice president and national litigation counsel. He also was appointed senior vice president of its largest subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Co. Prior to joining the firm, Sullivan was in private practice for 18 years.
Brent R. Jones joined JUNUM, a Costa Mesa company that specializes in credit management, debt exchange and financial services, as vice president of sales and marketing. Previously, the 25-year sales and marketing veteran was COO of Autobytel.com Inc.
BIOMEDICAL
Eclipse Surgical Technologies, Sunnyvale, named Christopher M. Owens vice president of marketing. Owens comes to the firm from Bausch & Lomb, where he was director of marketing. Owens is based in Huntington Beach.
BUSINESS SERVICES
Dora Taylor joined IA as a project manager in its Costa Mesa office, where she will coordinate programming and design services. In addition, IA appointed Ivy Hatch an associate. She will manage the firm’s finance, operations and human resources functions in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa.
CONSTRUCTION
Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction hired Don Hancock as senior project manager. The 32-year industry veteran was senior construction manager at Disney’s California Adventure.
Andrew L. Youngquist Construction Inc., Costa Mesa, hired David MacKay as project scheduling engineer. MacKay comes to the firm from S.J. Amoroso Construction Inc. where he worked as a scheduling and project engineer for Disney’s California Adventure.
Robert Cashin joined Newport Beach-based Swinerton Builders as project executive for the special projects group. The 22-year industry veteran will be responsible for projects and construction for the OC division. Previously, Cashin was vice president of operations for Sundt Construction.
EDUCATION
William Habermehl was named Orange County superintendent of schools. The 34-year education veteran is also co-chair of the Multicultural Institute for Leadership.
ENTERTAINMENT
Irvine Barclay Theatre added Robert E. Tarlton to its board of directors. Tarlton, community and government affairs manager for Lincoln Mercury in Irvine, is active in the OC Business Council and OC Transportation Coalition, the Orange County Forum and World Affairs Council of Orange County, among others.
HOSPITALITY
Martin Driskell was promoted to general manager of the Crowne Plaza, Irvine. Driskell comes to the hotel from Bass Hotels’ Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland, where he was manager and director of sales and marketing. He replaces Paul Gibbs, who was promoted to general manager at the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach & Marina.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Tustin-based Ambrosia Interior Design Inc. hired Marie Reine as sales and marketing director. Reine comes to the firm from Pacific Dimensions, where she was marketing coordinator and sales associate. In addition, Nicole Blanchard was named creative manager.

Clark Neuhoff joined Sares-Regis Group, Irvine as director of development for the commercial development division. Previously, Neuhoff was development manager for Koll Development Co.’s OC office.
UTILITIES
Mark Edward Mazak joined Anaheim Public Utilities as assistant general manager, finance and administration. Previously, the 30-year financial industry veteran was with Turlock Irrigation District, where he was assistant general manager, financial services and treasurer.
