ACCOUNTING

J. Todd Brumley joined the Costa Mesa office of BDO Seidman LLP as director of business development. Prior to joining BDO, he was president and cofounder of AireTronics Inc., a maker of motorcycle airbags.


BANKING

Robert Brown joined Comerica Bank in Foothill Ranch as assistant vice president and banking center manager. Brown was branch manager of Wells Fargo in Rancho Santa Margarita and has 14 years of experience in financial services.

Matt Regan was named manager for Wells Fargo in Newport Beach. Regan joined Wells Fargo in 1989 as a teller. Previously he was manager of the Newport Coast office. Regan is set to focus on wealthy and small-business clients. Reza Saremaslani was promoted to manager of the Wells Fargo Newport Coast office.


CONSTRUCTION

The Irvine office of La Jolla Pacific Ltd. promoted Ed Gibbons to director of field operations-Southwest region. La Jolla Pacific consults on risk and quality management for construction projects. Gibbons has more than 19 years of experience in construction and project management. He previously worked for EMG Development.


EDUCATION

Lynda Zadra-Symes joined the board of trustees for St. Mary and All Angels School. Zadra-Symes is a litigation partner in the Irvine office of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP. She specializes in U.S. litigation involving intellectual property, patents and copyrights. She has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer.

Paul Foster was named director of institutional service at Santa Ana College. Foster has 16 years of experience in higher education at colleges and universities. He has been budget analyst for Rancho Santiago Community College District since 2001.


GOVERNMENT

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger named Andrew Bowden of Newport Beach to the state’s Landscape Architect Technical Committee. Bowden has worked for landscape architecture firm Land Concern since 1976. He’s president of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Southern California chapter.

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council elected Neil Blais as the city’s mayor and Councilman Gary Thompson as mayor pro tempore for 2008. Blais was elected to the first Rancho Santa Margarita City Council in 1999. In the past eight years, he has served on the Orange County Fire Authority, Transportation Corridor Agencies and trauma intervention program advisory committee.


INSURANCE

Newport Beach-based Alliant Insurance Services Inc. named John Rains vice president. Before joining Alliant, Rains was vice president with Willis Group for three years. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and 10 years in property and liability insurance.


NONPROFIT

Catholic Charities of Orange County added Lucy Dunn and Sam Ortiz to its board. Dunn is chief executive of the Orange County Business Council. Ortiz is an accountant and financial planner with Samuel Ortiz Jr. Accountancy Corp.


REAL ESTATE

Eugenia Lovric and Toyin Fadope earned the certified community association manager designation through the California Association of Community Managers. Both are senior community association managers in the Irvine office of Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc.


SPORTS

The Orange County Gladiators of the American Basketball Association signed former University of California, Irvine player Kristen Green. Green averaged 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals per game in 2004 at UC Irvine. She played the last three seasons overseas averaging 17 points per game. She was the leading three-point shooter in the Amsterdam league. Green is the first woman to join the Gladiators.


TECHNOLOGY

Technology consultant Axis Technical Group Inc. promoted Russell Wolf to vice president, business development. He was director of business development since 2005.

Tempe, Ariz.-based Ensynch Inc., a technology consultant, named Joel Fricker vice president of sales for California. Fricker, who lives in Foothill Ranch, has more than 15 years of experience in technology and sales.
