Creative Works appointed Lynda Orban vice president of its public relations practice. The firm also hired Jayme Williams as account services coordinator. Orban will oversee business-to-business and technology accounts; both will work from the firm’s public relations practice in Irvine.
Shafer, Irvine, appointed Kirsten Brundahl to account executive and Stephanie Monzer to assistant account executive of its public relations department. Prior to joining Shafer, Brundahl managed IMRI’s public relations department and Monzer spent 10 years in the fashion industry designing children’s clothing.
Thyra Metz was promoted to advertising account executive by RiechesBaird Advertising, Public Relations and e-Business, Irvine. Metz began her career with RiechesBaird as an intern after graduating from California State University, Fullerton.
Architecture
Carrier Johnson promoted Mark Loxsom to managing principal of its Irvine office. Loxsom, a 20-year industry veteran, was director of the Irvine office and director of advanced technology projects for the past four years.
Banking AND FINANCE
People’s Bank of California, an Irvine subsidiary of PBOC Holdings Inc., added C. Stephen Mansfield as a member of PBOC’s board of directors. Mansfield has 30 years of industry experience and most recently was a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Martynec & Deering CPAs, Huntington Beach, hired Michael J. Cummins as its chief operating officer. Cummins was formerly the chief financial officer for Catholic Charities.
Art Wardwell was appointed managing director and co-manager of First Republic Bank’s recently opened private banking office in Newport Beach. Wardwell previously held the position of regional sales manager and first vice president for the Southwest region of Mellon Financial Corp.
Metropolitan West Capital Management LLC, Newport Beach, added Harold Singleton III and David M. Graham as senior vice president and vice president, respectively. Both men will be involved in the equity investment process for the firm’s individual and institutional clients.
First American Trust of Santa Ana appointed Thomas M. Linden to its board of directors. Linden was president and chief executive officer of Linco Investment Co., Newport Beach. The board also appointed Roger N. Cregg and Kenneth E. Petersen Jr. vice presidents/business development officers for First American Trust’s Orange County region and named Gary M. Newman vice president/trust administrator for the company’s Newport Beach office.

Vickey Sarantis joined Summit Builders, Newport Beach, as director of marketing. Sarantis previously was district manager for Interplay Entertainment.

Tetra Tech ASL, Irvine, promoted Steven Agor to senior project manager of its water and wastewater group. Agor began his career with the firm in 1985.
Healthcare
PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., Santa Ana, promoted Maria Fitzpatrick to chief information officer. Fitzpatrick joined PacifiCare in 1996 as vice president of information systems development and was appointed interim CIO in March, 2000.
The TriZetto Group Inc., Newport Beach, appointed the following to its board of directors: Victoria R. Fash, president and chief executive officer of IMS Health Inc.; Willard (Bill) A. Johnson Jr., former managing partner for the Denver office of Andersen Consulting; and Eric D. Sipf, former president and CEO of PacifiCare of Colorado and regional vice president for the company’s central region.
Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo promoted Markie Cowley to chief operating officer and senior vice president. Prior to Cowley’s tenure with Mission Hospital, she was executive director and chief nursing officer of Humana Hospital-Audubon in Louisville, Kentucky.
SK & A; Information Services Inc., Irvine, added Cheri DeBoer-Stinson as telesales representative and Brian Ackeret as account manager. DeBoer-Stinson is based in Atlanta and Ackeret will be based on the East Coast.

Safeco Select Insurance Services, Santa Ana, hired Dale Alexander to head the company’s new Optional Products Program. In addition, Alexander will remain active in Alexander Insurance Marketing in La Mesa, which specializes in financial institution programs.
Kevin Skjei joined the Marsh Newport Beach office to head its new retirement practice for businesses within the Orange County and Los Angeles areas. Skjei, a former United States Naval Reserve captain and registered investment advisor, brings to Marsh 15 years of experience developing retirement plans.
