CONSUMER PRODUCTS

Irvine-based Schwarz-kopf and Henkel, a unit of Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., named Paul De Bruecker senior vice president and general manager of its operations in the U.S. and Canada. The company develops and markets hair care and personal care products.

EDUCATION

Jay G. Thorton became a board member of the Orange County High School of the Arts Foundation in Santa Ana. Thorton is senior vice president wealth adviser for Morgan Stanley in Newport Beach.

ENGINEERING

The Irvine office of RBF Consulting named the following as associates: Alan Ashimine, Howard Barndt, Richard Beck, Andrew Christiansen, Mark Esposito, Scott Gilbert, Andy Gong, Cathy Johnson, Detlef Kopp, Laura Larsen, Randy Lovan, Michael Marquis, Paul Martin, Cherie Piazzisi, Eddie Torres, Victoria Whitaker and Steve Tucker.

GOVERNMENT

The League of California Cities, Orange County division, promoted Michael Gold to executive director from deputy director. The league is a nonprofit group of cities that focus on training and educating city officials, developing policy and working on legal issues.

Jim Palmer, president of the Orange County Rescue Mission, and commissioner of the County Housing and Community Development organization, was appointed to the California Mental Health Services Act Steering Committee of Orange County. The committee works with the public mental health system on issues affecting adults who have mental illnesses and children with emotional disturbances.

LAW

Garrick Hollander was named shareholder at Newport Beach-based Winthrop Couchot Professional Corp., a boutique law firm specializing in bankruptcy, insolvency and business reorganizations.

MARKETING

Idea Hall in Costa Mesa added Stephen Fry as senior creative director, Greg Young as senior account manager, Lauren Smith and Jessica Neumann as account executives and Lauren Gilomen as account coordinator.

NONPROFIT

Art and Creativity for Healing Inc. named the following to its board: Tanya Eiseman, director of catering at the Sheraton Anaheim; Andrea Fisher, network service manager at Sprint; and Leah Prehn, owner of PAWSitive Obedience in Costa Mesa.

REAL ESTATE

Brad Gilmer became principal at Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services Inc. in Orange. Gilmer, who joined the company in 1994, specializes in industrial properties in Los Angeles and in north and west Orange County.

Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Pulte Homes promoted Dan Guajardo to purchasing manager of the Orange County and South Riverside division, working from its Irvine office. Guajardo previously was construction area manager.

Martin T. O’Hea joined the Irvine headquarters of Sares-Regis Group as senior vice president of finance. O’Hea formerly served as senior vice president of finance for Legacy Partners Commercial Inc. in Irvine.

CT Realty Corp. in Newport Beach appointed Lee Orr as senior vice president of acquisitions and development. Orr formerly was vice president and development officer at AMB Property Corp. in Cerritos.

Greg Retzer was promoted to vice president of nationwide REO at Irvine-based Marshall Reddick Real Estate Network. He previously was vice president of sales and marketing. Lynda Mulley was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing from area sales manager.

SERVICES

John Koch was hired as project manager at DDL West, a Costa Mesa-based company that tests packages, products and materials. Koch, a certified Department of Transportation hazardous materials specialist, will lead the company’s development of a Hazmat testing services department.

TECHNOLOGY

Lake Forest-based Western Digital Corp. named Jackie DeMaria vice president of human resources. DeMaria most recently was senior vice president of human resources for Earth Tech Inc.

Epicor Software Corp. promoted three senior executives: Mark Duffell to president and chief operating officer, John Hiraoka to senior vice president and chief marketing officer and Michael Piraino to executive vice president and chief financial officer. The 20-year old company is based in Irvine.

Shaun Trivedi became product marketing manager of the security and network video products group at Toshiba Digital Solutions, a unit of Irvine-based Toshiba American Information Systems Inc. Trivedi previously was product line manager at Conexant Systems Inc.

Tim Jemal was appointed executive director of the Orange County Council of the American Electronics Association, replacing Phil Beaudoin. The group represents all segments of the high-tech industry.

TOURISM

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau named Christina Dawson to the newly created position of director of strategic partnerships.
