Mark Hogland, vice president and general manager for Compass Defense, became vice president and general manager for Santa Ana-based Compass Aerospace subsidiary Western Methods. Hogland brings more than 20 years of experience in aerospace and manufacturing.
AUTOMOTIVE
St. Louis-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car promoted Jim Wilson from regional rental manager in San Diego County to regional vice president of several offices throughout Orange County. Wilson joined the company in 1991.
BANKING
Comerica Bank, part of Detroit-based Comerica Inc., named Nolan C. Hiatt manager of its Newport Beach branch, the second branch to open in OC last year. Hiatt previously was branch manager of Downey Savings and Loan in Costa Mesa. Two more Comerica branches are set to open this year.
EDUCATION
Dr. Linda Clinard and Martha Hess joined the board of directors of Orange County Head Start Inc. in Santa Ana. Clinard is director of the California Reading and Literature project at the University of California, Irvine Center of Educational Partnerships. Hess serves as director of global marketing communications for Hitachi Data Systems in Anaheim.
HEALTHCARE
Steven C. Mynsberge, senior vice president in charge of healthcare services for the Southern California division of St. Louis-based McCarthy Building Cos., was appointed to the editorial advisory board of Healthcare Building Ideas, a national healthcare publication. Mynsberge is an industry expert in the healthcare construction industry, working out of McCarthy’s Newport Beach office.
HOSPITALITY
The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in Dana Point named Johnny So general manager. So brings more than 25 years of management experience. He most recently was vice president and general manager of the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & spa in Maui, Hawaii.
INSURANCE
Countrywide Financial Corp. hired David Kuhn as executive vice president and head of Countrywide Insurance Group’s commercial operations, based in Irvine. Kuhn most recently served as regional president for the St. Paul Cos.
Robert W. Sanders became vice president of Irvine-based Sullivan Curtis Monroe, a commercial insurance brokerage. Sanders previously was with Calco in Orange.
LAW
DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar, the national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel, named Keri Lynn Bush national director. Bush is a partner at the Costa Mesa law office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP.
Darren K. Cottriel and Mark Andrew Romeo were promoted to partnership of the Costa Mesa office of the law firm Pillsbury Winthrop LLP.
NONPROFIT
Rose Aebig, human resource manager at Trend Micro, became chair of the human resources committee of the Speech and Language Development Center, a private, nonprofit, special-education school in Long Beach, which also serves students referred by OC school districts.
The California division of the American Cancer Society named Debbie Douglas, partner of Douglas Advisors LLC in Newport Beach, as chair of its corporate communications team. Douglas also chairs the American Cancer Society’s Orange County Cattle Baron’s Ball and serves on the board of the Blue Heron Foundation.
Gary Hayakawa was re-appointed to the board of directors of the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center. Hayakawa is president of Three Star Nursery Inc. in Fountain Valley and serves in numerous high-level positions for various OC community groups.
RESTAURANTS
BJ’s Restaurants Inc., based in Huntington Beach, named Gerald “Jerry” Deitchle to its board of directors. Deitchle is president, chief operating officer and director of Fired Up Inc.
TECHNOLOGY
EMS, a division of Santa Ana-based contract electronics maker Sandberg Industries Inc., hired Richard Lamprecht III as senior vice president and general manager. Prior to joining EMS, Lamprecht held senior management positions with Pacific Consolidated Industries and Baker-Hughes.
Tim Peterson became sales manager at Laguna Hills-based Blytheco Inc., which resells accounting and other software from Irvine’s Best Software. Peterson has
extensive sales experience in the software industry.
