ARTS

The Orange County Performing Arts Center elected Anthony Matthews and Glenn Stearns to its board. Matthews is a managing director of J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Orange County and board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. Stearns is chairman of Stearns Corp. and founder of the Stearns Family Charitable Foundation.


BANKING

Tom Meyer was promoted to chairman and chief executive of Fullerton Community Bank. He will also serve as chairman of RMG Capital Corp., the parent company of Fullerton Community Bank. Meyer joined the bank in 1995 and most recently was president and chief operating officer.

Mo Nassery was promoted to private banker at the Foothill Ranch branch of Wells Fargo & Co. Nassery began his career at Wells Fargo as a teller 10 years ago. He most recently was a personal banker at an Irvine branch. In his new role he will manage investments for bank clients.


EDUCATION

Donna Ford Attallah and David Pyott joined the board at Chapman University. Attallah is a 1961 graduate of Chapman University and has contributed several gifts to the school, including $1.5 million for a piazza. Pyott is chairman and chief executive of Irvine-based Allergan Inc.


FINANCE

David Friedman joined Tech Coast Angels as a member. Friedman has served as a senior executive for a number of technology, software and services companies including Boeing Co. and U.S. Cellular Corp. As a member of Tech Coast Angels, he will help identify early stage companies to fund and provide guidance either as a board member or operational executive.


FOOD

Real Mex Restaurants Inc. added Jeff Campbell and Craig Miller to its board. Campbell is currently the Brinkler Executive in Residence at San Diego State University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism and is also the former chief executive of Burger King Holdings Inc. Miller is a founder of Miller-Sinton Capital Partners LLC and is the former chief executive and chairman of Ruth’s Chris Steak House Inc.


NONPROFIT

Ruthan Smith was named president of the board for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Orange County/Inland Empire chapter. Smith is currently the vice president of marketing and business development at Riverside Medical Clinic. Smith has more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has also worked at University of California, Irvine, and Pacific Physician Services.

A Charity for Charities added Lee Ann Canaday, Denise David and Jacquin Davidson to its board. Canaday is the owner of Re/Max Fine Homes, Canaday Group in Laguna and Newport Beach. David is an account manager for KFOG radio. Davidson is vice president at Commerce National Bank in Newport Beach.


REAL ESTATE

Bixby Land Co. in Irvine named James Muzzy to it board. Muzzy is a founder and retired managing director of global bond management company Pacific Investment Management Co. He also recently served as director of Pimco’s European fund complex.

Tustin-based Coreland Cos. hired David Girty as director of the office brokerage division and Benjamin Terry as a senior associate in the retail brokerage division. Matthew Hammond and Bryan Bauer were also promoted. Girty previously worked at Grubb & Ellis Co. as senior vice president. Terry is the former leasing director of Red Mountain Retail Group Inc. Hammond was promoted to director and Bauer to senior associate in the retail brokerage division.


TECHNOLOGY

Newport Beach-based Conexant Systems Inc. named Christian Scherp and Sailesh Chittipeddi as copresidents. These appointments will continue when the transaction to sell Conexant Systems to Ikanos Communications Inc. is completed. Scherp previously served as president of the company and Chittipeddi was executive vice president of global operations and chief technical officer.

Irvine-based PBM IT Solutions hired John Winn as business development manager. Winn was most recently employed at VLS Systems Inc. as a senior account executive. He will be responsible for generating new business opportunities at PBM IT Solutions, which specializes in unified communications and managed network services.
