Claire Bilby, who heads the Disneyland Resort’s sales and marketing efforts here and abroad, was promoted to senior vice president of sales and distribution marketing last month.
Bilby is one of just a handful of executives who came on board in the late 1990s and still are with Disneyland.
The promotion from vice president means increased responsibility for the sales and travel industry marketing programs of Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure and the resort’s three hotels. She also is responsible for meetings, conventions and incentive sales programs and directs the Walt Disney Travel Company’s West Coast operation.
Bilby’s highest priority: gearing everyone up for Disneyland’s 18-month 50th anniversary promotion.
“We want to heighten awareness and excitement about the 50th anniversary across all domestic and international sales channels and with key strategic partners,” she said.
Bilby came to the Disneyland Resort from the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., in 1998. She also is vice chair of the California Tourism Commission and co-chair of the Orange County Tourism Council.
