Jeff Boyd joined Grant Thornton LLP’s Irvine office as a business development executive. Boyd previously was a business development manager at Jefferson Wells International.
EDUCATION
The South Orange County Community College District board re-elected three members: Marcia Milchiker, Nancy Padberg and Donald Wagner. The board also elected Wagner as vice president, David Lang as president and Thomas Fuentes as clerk.
Tarbut V’Torah, a community day school in Irvine, named Laura Roth as high school principal. Roth will start in March. She currently is the head of the upper school at the Meadows School in Las Vegas.
FINANCE
Bank of America hired Jeffrey Redeker as vice president and client development officer at its South Orange County business banking division. Redeker has worked in the banking for nearly 15 years.
Krystine Solomon joined U.S. Trust’s Costa Mesa office as a vice president and fiduciary expert. Solomon previously was vice president and senior trust officer at Union Bank of California in Los Angeles.
GOVERNMENT
The El Toro Water District board re-elected Ted Martin as president, M. Scott Goldman as vice-president, John Dudley as treasurer and William Kahn and Jerard Werner as members.
Fred Ameri, senior vice president of Irvine-based RBF Consulting, was re-appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Regional Water Quality Control board, Santa Ana region.
HEALTHCARE
Costa Mesa-based Pacific Communications won Allergan Inc.’s managed care business and named Aubrey Johnson as the vice president for the account. Before joining Pacific Communications, Johnson was an independent strategic consultant for startup e-commerce companies and drug makers.
Ophthalmologist Franklin Lusby joined the Southern California College of Optometry’s Eye Care Center in Fullerton. Lusby will work at the center on Tuesdays and deal with specialty problems.
HOTEL
The Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa added Chad Krahling as executive chef. Krahling was the executive chef at the Golden Vine Winery and Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disneyland Resort.
NONPROFIT
Vocational Visions, a nonprofit in Mission Viejo, appointed Bob Brunson to its board of directors. Bob Brunson is the director of business development and communications at Mob Media Inc., an advertising agency in Foothill Ranch.
Darlene Gan joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County as a supervisor for school-based programs such as High School Bigs and Tutor Pal. Gan previously served as a program coordinator for the American Lung Association of Orange County and a volunteer at the Irvine Animal Care
Center.
REAL ESTATE
Jim Warmington Jr. was promoted to president and chief operating officer at Warmington Homes California, a homebuilder that’s part of Warmington Group Companies. Warmington formerly was executive vice president and senior vice president of land acquisition.
Birtcher Anderson Properties LLC, a San Juan Capistrano-based real estate developer and investor, promoted Kathryn Leigh to director of property operations. Leigh has worked for Birtcher Anderson for 14 years.
Andrew McCormick joined Irvine’s Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. as executive vice president and chief investment officer. McCormick previously was the senior vice president of portfolio transactions at Fannie Mae.
Atherton-Newport Investments LLC, a real estate investment and development company in Irvine, named Brett Lay chief financial officer. Prior to joining Atherton-Newport, Lay was chief financial officer and Asia-Pacific director at MediaOne Group Inc.
Michael Haines joined Irvine-based Hopkins Real Estate Group as chief financial officer. Haines previously was vice president of finance at Pan Pacific Retail Properties Inc.
Irvine’s Sage Credit Mortgage Co. hired Kyle Kamrooz as a relationship manager. Prior to joining Sage Credit Co., Kamrooz was vice president of operations and production at Avrek Financial Corp. in Santa Ana.

Arie Shen joined Irvine-based Dane-Elec Memory Corp. USA as vice president of business operations. Shen previously served as chief executive and general manager at EasyBase Inc., and vice president of professional services at Magic Software Enterprises Inc.
