Also, Rick Wheeler was promoted to franchise operations manager for the company. He previously was branch manager of Systems Paving’s San Diego operation.

A.P. “Walt” Walton joined Rancho Santa Margarita-based South County Bank as vice president of business development. He previously worked in business development at Bank of Orange County and Sunwest Bank.
EDUCATION
The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, appointed professor Jean-Luc Gaudiot chair of the department of electrical engineering and computer science. Gaudiot currently is director of parallel systems and UCI’s computer architects lab.

Propaganda Headquarters Inc. of Laguna Beach named Mark Sperling vice president. He will lead new business development and direct projects.
NONPROFIT
Tim Strader Jr. of Starpointe Ventures was inducted as president of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Orange County for 2003-2004. He has been on the board since 1995 and has served as vice president.
Dana Point resident Anne Grey was named chief operating officer for field and program operations of the Western states affiliates of the American Heart Association. She was executive director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in OC.
Terri Gaydon Koberstein was named fund developer for CareGiving Solutions, which develops support services for families of OC caregivers. She will identify business and funding sources for the organization.
