Elsa Neira was named account executive for Lawrence, Mayo & Ponder, Newport Beach. Neira comes to the agency from DGWB Advertising, where she was an account executive. She will manage activities for several state programs and will be the Hispanic markets advisor for various clients.


ARCHITECTURE

Newport Beach-based Lifescapes International promoted four people: Rocco M. Campanozzi to senior principal-senior project manager; Michael Calderon to principal-information systems manager; Naresh Patel to principal-senior project manager; David Salkowitz to principal-senior project manager. The firm’s local projects include models for Pacific Bay Homes in Newport Beach at One Ford Road.


BANKING/FINANCE

Michael Markovsky joined Unfunds Inc., Huntington Beach, as business development manager, where he will spearhead customer acquisition efforts. He comes to the firm from Eli Lilly, where he was regional sales manager.


BUSINESS SERVICES

Irvine-based Graphic Placement Inc. hired 20-year sales veteran, John Udink as vice-president, director of sales. Previously, Udink was with Lithographic San Diego Division. Udink will focus on client and staff development, integration and implementation of the company’s contract print management program and project sales.

Lick Rives was named senior vice president and chief financial officer for Virtual CEO Inc., San Juan Capistrano. Most recently, Rives helped found a $75-million venture-backed startup called Perigon Medical Distribution Corp. and was with United Dominion Industries for 18 years.


ENTERTAINMENT

The Orange County Natural History Museum announced its 2001 board of directors: Jerry King, president; Larry Shaw, vice president; Jeff Graham, CFO; Jacki Hanson, secretary. They will oversee all current business development of the museum and begin plans to build a larger museum.


HEALTHCARE

Orange County Health Care Agency, Santa Ana, hired Dr. Julie Ann Ryan Johnson as animal care services director. Dr. Ryan Johnson comes to the agency from Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, where she was president.

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, La Palma, added Britt L. Recla as director of public relations and marketing. Previously, the 10-year industry veteran operated her own marketing consulting company.

Ron Brewer joined Orange-based William M. Mercer Inc. as lead sales consultant for Orange and San Diego counties. Brewer previously worked in both international and domestic divisions at Aetna.


HOSPITALITY

Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, Huntington Beach, hired Maria Geddes as sales manager. The 20-year sales and marketing veteran will handle the Club Waterfront corporate reservations club and Twin Dolphin Club for the resort. Most recently she managed the hotel’s retail outlets.


LAW

Santa Ana-based Klinedinst, Fliehman & McKillop welcomed three associates: Gabe P. Wright, Matthew C. Smith and Bonnie L. Lutz. The firm is engaged primarily in civil litigation, business and international law practices.

Paddi Sharifian joined Snell & Wilmer LLP’s Orange County office in Irvine as an associate in the commercial finance practice. Sharifian is experienced in representing institutional and private lenders in state court litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.

County Superior Court Judge, Jack K. Mandel will join Irvine-based JAMS’ panel of neutrals in Orange this month. The firm provides alternative dispute resolution for both domestic and international clients.


MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS

Mick Donahoo was named director of technology for Nine Dots Corp., Irvine. Previously, Donahoo was a senior consultant for Ernst & Young LLP. In his new role, Donahoo will be responsible for new product development, Internet process development, quality assurance and quality control.


TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based Intheairnet added Lori Schultz-Salazar as vice president of business development. The 18-year industry veteran will be responsible for developing marketing programs, corporate and product positioning as well as directing business strategy.

Geneva Systems Inc., Anaheim, added a 25-year manufacturing operations veteran, Paul Gardner, to the executive sales staff. Geneva Systems is a provider of automated data collection applications.

Telmar Network Technology Inc., Irvine, named John McAdam chief financial officer. McAdam comes to the firm from US Filter, where he was CFO of the international division.

Roger C. Turner was named patent counsel for ITT Industries, Cannon, Santa Ana. The 25-year patent veteran will be responsible for managing the firm’s intellectual property.

Santa Ana-based Starbase Corp. named Karen Bennett vice president of the firm’s professional services group. Bennett comes to the firm from Merant Inc. where she was North American strategic director for the consulting organization. At Starbase, Bennett will head consulting activities as well as implementation and training services for the U. S.

Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, hired Will Curtis as public relations representative. He comes to the firm from Davis-Marrin Communications.
