Y & R; Irvine has appointed Robert Parker a senior vice president and creative director of broadcast production. Parker will oversee all broadcast production for the Irvine and Detroit offices. Parker’s career as a producer includes recent campaigns for Cisco Systems, JP Morgan, Microsoft, Universal Studios and Absolut. He produced more than 30 commercials for the global Coca-Cola campaign, as well as commercials for Nike, Acura, Keds, Mazda, and Dodge.


Banking

Bank of America has selected Simon Clark to lead its Private Bank expansion in Newport Beach. Clark is an executive for the Private Bank’s Los Angeles market, and this increases his responsibilities to encompass Orange County client relationship teams. The bank also announced that Susie Luer and Craig Mardany have been promoted to senior vice presidents. Both are a part of the Private Bank Newport Beach team, which reports to Clark. Luer is a certified financial planner and client relationship manager with more than 14 years of experience at Bank of America in California. Mardany has 18 years of experience and has been with the company nearly 14 years with a focus on alternative investment consultation, trust and estate planning, and customized credit solutions.

First American Corp. announced that Max O. Valdes has been named to the newly created position of vice president and chief accounting officer. In his new role, Valdes will oversee the company’s SEC and statutory financial reporting. He also will retain his duties as chief financial officer of First American’s largest subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Co.


Biomedical

Irvine-based Cardiac Science Inc. appointed Roderick de Greef executive vice president and chief financial officer, and Gary Sohie, Ph.D., vice president of operations. In addition, Prabodh Mathur was promoted to chief product development officer.


Business Service

Patrick M. Keenan has joined Wieland Associates Inc. as an associate consultant. He is an associate member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering. Previously, Keenan taught and tutored in most areas of mathematics at UCI and Cal State Long Beach.


Construction

McCarthy hired Cindy Turner as marketing coordinator and Leo Ramirez as senior scheduler. Both will work at McCarthy’s Newport Beach office.


Education

The Irvine-based One Customer at a Time Group announced that Valen Treadaway has been promoted to director of business development.


Health

Shawn Mobley has joined Uniprise as vice president of sales. Mobley most recently was senior business manager of national accounts at PacifiCare Health Plans.

The California Endowment appointed Sylvia Castillo and Alicia Dixon new program officers to work with community-based organizations in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties to identify and address their health-related needs. Castillo and Dixon will conduct outreach to these organizations to increase their awareness of funding opportunities, review health-related grant proposals, help to develop programs to assist under served communities, and monitor foundation grants.


Hospitality

Brad Gyll has been named director of engineering at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Gyll most recently held the position of chief engineer with Hilton Hotel Corp. at Embassy Vacation Resorts in South Lake Tahoe and Scottsdale, Ariz. He also consulted for two Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Marsha Moore, Karie Brown and Ashley Ramsamooj have been promoted in the catering department of the Hilton Waterfront. Moore, former meeting service manager has been promoted to director of catering. Brown, former catering coordinator, has been named catering sales and meeting service manager and Ramsamooj, former catering assistant, has been named catering sales manager.


Human Resources

Exult Inc. named Karl Sachsenmaier and Trey Campbell to lead its global and U.S. sales efforts, respectively. Sachsenmaier was one of the initial founders of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ business and has led Unisys’ outsourcing practice. Campbell’s background includes senior business development and strategic sales positions at PwC, Spherion Corporation and Unisys.


Law

Arter & Hadden LLP named Michael J. Baker a partner in its Irvine office. Baker joins the firm from Case & Baker, a Costa Mesa-based law firm he co-founded in 1997. At Arter & Hadden, Baker will join the construction practice group chaired by partner Jack Fleming. Over the past 15 years, Baker, a resident of Coto de Caza and a graduate of Pepperdine University Law School, has represented clients on projects valued at nearly $10 billion.

Allen Matkins Leck Gamble & Mallory LLP named Kenneth W. Curtis a partner in the Irvine office, specializing in business litigation, with an emphasis on public and private works construction. The addition of Curtis brings the total number of attorneys in the firm’s litigation department to 73.


Marketing

Integrated Marketing Works named Liz Wilkins account supervisor. Wilkins, who has more than 10 years of corporate and agency public relations experience, will be responsible for leading marketing programs for clients such as the California Avocado Commission, DENSO Sales California and The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Prior to joining IMW, Wilkins served as a communications manager and communications consultant for Walt Disney Art Classics where she managed publicity plans and corporate communications for Disney’s fine art and collectibles division.


Printing

Leslie Yeates has joined Pacific Coast Reprographics as a production manager at its new 20,000 square-foot location at the Irvine Spectrum. Yeates, who has 20 years of experience, previously worked for Thompson Reprographics.


Publishing

Entrepreneur Media announced the promotion of Jill Juedes from director of marketing to vice president of marketing. Juedes will be responsible for overseeing all marketing initiatives for Entrepreneur Media and will continue to implement comprehensive branding campaigns for Entrepreneur magazine and Entrepreneur.com.


Real Estate

Michael Zoob has joined Northwest Atlantic Real Estate Services as vice president and director of retail brokerage services in Southern California. Prior to joining Northwest Atlantic, Zoob spent 13 years with Grubb & Ellis Co. in San Diego and Newport Beach.


Retail

Nanci Breeze and Trish Drummy have joined Tangram as sales manager and account manager, respectively. Both were formerly with Office Depot’s contract furniture division.


Technology

Zapways announced the appointment of Adam Neumann as information systems administrator. Prior to joining Zapways, Neumann was head network and system engineer for Flashcards.com in Aliso Viejo.

Ronald Crocco has been selected to head the new emerging business unit of U.S. Robotics. Crocco, as vice president and general manager, will work out of the company’s new 7,000-square-foot facility in Irvine and report to Van Andrews, president and CEO of the Schaumburg, Ill-based firm.

Cristek Interconnects named Silvia Ross director of human resources. Ross brings 23 years of human resources management experience to the company.
