Cynthia Noe was named director of sales for Taylor Woodrow Homes Inc. Noe previously was Southern California field sales manager for the Laguna Hills-based homebuilder.

RETAIL

Scott Bower was appointed vice president of sports marketing for Oakley Inc. Bower previously was a regional sales manager. The eyewear and apparel retailer also promoted Tommy Rios to vice president of Oakley Worldwide and Jim Stroesser joined Oakley as national sales director. Rios was previously director of Oakley Worldwide. Stroesser previously was footwear general merchandise manager for Nike and will be responsible for Oakley’s domestic sales in the newly created position.

The Crazy Horse Steakhouse, in the Irvine Spectrum Center, hired Eugene Guazzo as head chef. He most recently worked as executive chef at the Hop City Steakhouse and Blues Club in Anaheim.

Terry Lee was appointed sales associate and director of business development for Black, Starr & Frost. Lee comes to the Costa Mesa-based jewelry retailer with 20 years of retail jewelry experience.

SECURITY

Tom Roepke joined Greater Alarm Company Inc. as director of operations for its BASI subsidiary. Roepke previously served as manager of corporate investigations for Western Digital in Irvine. The Southern California provider of electronic protection services also hired Ron Book as director of operations for the company’s Southern California offices. He was previously president of the San Diego Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. Greater Alarm also hired Brenda Williams as director of administration for its corporate office. She was previously general manager of administrative operations for the Westec corporate office in Newport Beach.

Dennis Duncan was appointed chief of the Department of Public Safety for the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center. Duncan will oversee the department and serve as a liaison between the fair and area law enforcement agencies.

TECHNOLOGY

Stephen Cotton joined Lantronix as chief financial officer. He most recently was CFO and COO at M2 Automotive. The network-enabling technology provider also appointed Richard Franzi vice president of North American Sales. He was previously vice-president of American sales at Network Computing Devices. Mark Fondl signed on as vice president and general manager of the newly formed automation business unit. He was formerly vice president of marketing at Schneider Automation. Lantronix also hired Fraser Walker as managing director for Europe and Marcel van der Meijs as director of European sales. Walker was European finance director and general manager for Pinkerton Security and van der Meijs was director of European sales and marketing at HID Corp.

Fujitsu Business Communication Systems named Zoe Quan senior vice president. She is also chief offer officer,a customer service-related position,for the IT provider. Quan most recently served as sales support vice president in Lucent Technologies’ wireless access solutions division.

Daniel Porter was appointed program manager at Laughlin-Wilt Group in Lake Forest. Porter was previously with Apple Computer at its computer peripherals manufacturing operation in Garden Grove. The electronics manufacturer also named Hector Cordova purchasing agent. Cordova has held senior purchasing positions at firms such as TRW Inc. and Extron.

Karl Seppala joined Sonnet Technologies as director of marketing. Seppala will oversee the global marketing efforts for the Irvine-based manufacturer of Macintosh processor upgrade cards.

Ric Richardson was appointed chief financial officer for Uniloc PC Preload Inc. Carr was previously group vice president at Parker Hannifin Corp. Additionally, Shari Joslin was named marketing account executive for Uniloc’s OEM department. Before joining the Huntington Beach-based technology patent holder, she was a loan officer with AKT Mortgage of Anaheim Hills.

Sage Software Inc. hired John Carroll as director of e-business. As director, he will design and implement the software provider’s overall Internet strategy. Carroll previously conducted e-business for Ingram Micro.

Vector Technology hired Tim Ingersoll as senior systems consultant for its Huntington Beach office. Ingersoll was director of IT for California State University of Northridge.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Kip Simonson was promoted to vice president of marketing and sales for Cox Communications. He was previously director of sales for the cable company. Marty Zajic was also named vice president of public relations and Colleen Langner was appointed director of marketing, retail and sales. Zajic previously worked for Sprint PCS and Disneyland and Langner was previously with Comcast Communications.
