ARCHITECTURE

Irvine-based Thomas P. Cox Architects Inc. added John Brooks as a project manager. Brooks’ responsibilities include client and consultant coordination, budgets, scheduling and supervision of staff and construction administration. Thomas P. Cox also named Shaneen Tuley project manager. She will work with The Irvine Company on a senior housing project in Newport Beach’s Back Bay.

AUTOMOTIVE

Irvine-based Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. Inc. appointed Steve Bourdon as territory manager for the South Central region of the U.S. Bourdon served as the territory finance manager for Toyota Financial Services’ Commercial Finance Group since 1990.

EDUCATION

Doug Cavanaugh, cofounder, chairman and chief executive of Newport Beach-based Ruby’s Diner Inc., was elected to Concordia University’s board. Cavanaugh previously served as a member of the university’s president’s advisory council. Cavanaugh is the founding president of the Orange County chapter of the California Restaurant Association and a past chairman for the Southern California chapter of the Young President’s Organization. He also has served as a board member for the Laguna Beach Art Museum, the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation and the Orange Coast College Hospitality Advisory Board.

LAW

Douglas Dick was named partner at the Newport Beach office of Dechert LLP. He practices in the firm’s financial services group.

Costa Mesa-based Rutan & Tucker senior partner Theodore I. Wallace Jr. has been elected chairperson of the Orange County Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates section. Wallace practices probate, trust, conservatorship and real estate litigation. He has been a member of the executive committee of the OC Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates section since 1998.

MARKETING

Valerie Isozaki was named account director of Vertical Marketing Network in Tustin. Isozaki most recently served as promotions director at Warner Home Video.
