ARCHITECTURE
Newport Beach-based JBZ Architecture + Planning said Janet Caprario has earned the distinguished trade designation SDA/C from the Society of Design Administration, an affiliate of the American Institute of Architects. Director of finance for JBZ, Caprario received the designation at the national SDA convention held recently in Charlotte, N.C.

Beckman Coulter Inc. of Fullerton said vice president and director Linda Crans will assume the position of vice president, manufacturing and integrated supply chain services. She will be responsible for instrument and reagent production at various sites in the U.S., Australia, China, Germany, Ireland, Japan and South Africa. She will oversee workers responsible for logistics, material planning and procurement, technical services and administrative services.

Carla Moore, former vice president of field operations for Irvine-based Venturi Staffing Partners (formerly Thomas Staffing) has been promoted to general manager. Moore joined Thomas Staffing in 1992.
The OfficeTeam of Irvine announced the promotion of Tony Hablian to division director. He has been with OfficeTeam since 2000 and most recently was a staffing manager for the company.
EDUCATION
Larry Ainsworth, president of St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Orange, was named Rancho Santiago Community College District’s community college representative to the OC Community Colleges Legislative Task Force. He will serve on the task force, a government relations consortium of the county’s four community college districts, for one year. Marie Connell, the hospital’s public relations director, was also appointed to the legislative task force.

Edward Rogan left San Francisco-based architectural and engineering company URS Corp. to form Essentia Management Services LLC of Long Beach. Rogan’s consulting service will have offices in Irvine and San Diego.

J. Daniel Fitzgerald has been named director of sales & marketing for Crowne Plaza Resort Anaheim-Garden Grove. Fitzgerald will supervise a staff of 10 at the 384-room hotel. He previously was vice president of sales and marketing at the VenQuest Hotel Group in Irvine

James Lopiccolo has joined the staff of D.L.D. Insurance Brokers Inc. of Irvine as vice president of executive liability & financial products practice. He will be responsible for the production and marketing of officer liability insurance, professional liability and error & omission insurance and employment liability insurance among other packages. Prior to joining D.L.D., he was area vice president in the professional liability division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Intellectual property attorney William B. Anderson has joined the MedTech Practice Group in Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP’s Newport Beach office. Anderson’s specialties include ultrasound, cardiology, catheters and radio frequency devices. Anderson, who joins Oppenheimer as a senior associate, previously was an associate with the La Jolla office of Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe LLP.
