ACCOUNTING

Irvine-based Wertz & Co., an accounting, consulting and financial services firm, added Kenneth Koozin as tax manager. Prior to joining the firm, Koozin served in several senior level financial management positions.

ARCHITECTURE

James Connelly was named project director at the Costa Mesa office of Los Angeles-based Nadel Architects Inc. Connelly brings more than 25 years of experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant and other projects.

BANKING

Orange County’s Credit Union promoted Madeleine Taylor to assistant vice president of e-business. Taylor joined the credit union in 1986.

EMPLOYMENT

Beth Phillips joined Newport Beach-based Real Estate Temps as vice president of sales and marketing. Phillips comes from Shea Financial Services Inc. in Aliso Viejo where she was responsible for the development of a homeowners’ insurance program.

HEALTHCARE

Claudia Alleyne, a pediatrics, neonatal and perinatal doctor, was appointed by Kaiser Permanente Orange County as director of the neonatal intensive care unit at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center.

Irvine-based United Agribusiness League hired Tony Gutierrez as regional vice president of its healthcare plan. Gutierrez most recently was senior account executive at Western Growers Insurance Services. In addition, Jay Ross returned to the league. He’s vice president of sales for the healthcare plan. Ross formerly was vice president of employee benefits and sales at the association.

LAW

Jonathan Hersey rejoined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as partner in its business trial practice group in Costa Mesa. He most recently served at Bingham McCutchen LLP. Hersey’s experience includes representing technology and financial services companies.

Snell & Wilmer LLP added Karen Knight-on at its Costa Mesa office. Knighton’s practice is focused on the real estate, environment, energy and finance sectors.

Timothy A. Lambirth was added to the litigation practice group at Irvine-based Aldrich & Bonnefin PLC. Lambirth formerly was managing partner at Invanjack & Lambirth.

MARKETING

Sarah Peterson became account coordinator at C & M; Communique in Laguna Niguel. Prior to joining the agency, Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

MEDIA

PC World Commu-

nications Inc., a unit of IDG, and the publisher of PC World magazine, promoted Susan Green to associate publisher in market development at its Irvine office.

REAL ESTATE

Richard Armsworthy was named division president of Phoenix-based Summit Builders Construction Co.’s regional office in Newport Beach. Prior to joining Summit, he served as vice president and chief estimator at S.J. Amoroso Construction Co.

Irvine-based Sperry Van Ness, a commercial real estate investment brokerage, promoted Donald J. Keena from senior adviser for office and industrial properties sales to sales manager.

Eric Paxton was named president of American Diversified Mortgage Corp. in Laguna Hills, succeeding his father, Michael B. “Mike” Paxton, who retired after working for 40 years in real estate lending in Orange County.

Santa Ana-based First American Corp.

promoted Roger S. Hull to executive vice president. Hull has been the company’s chief information officer since 2001 and has nearly 25 years of information technology experience.

Patrick E. McLaughlin was named president of the national default title services group at Santa Ana-based First Amer-ican Title Insurance Co., a unit of First American. McLaughlin formerly was chief operating officer for the company’s lenders advantage division. James J. Dufficy, senior vice president and regulatory counsel for the company, replaces McLaughlin as that division’s director.

Countrywide Insurance Group named Jody Smith vice president of Countrywide Insurance Services Inc.’s construction practice at its Irvine unit. Countrywide Insurance Group is part of Calabasas-based Countrywide Financial Corp. Prior to joining the company, Smith served as executive vice president of Brown & Brown Inc.’s Los Angeles and Newport Beach office profit center operations.

TECHNOLOGY

Tustin-based NextAce Corp., which provides software and services to the title insurance and mortgage lender industries, appointed Max Harris as executive vice president. Harris most recently served as president of REIData, a unit of Stewart Information Services Corp.
