Laguna Hills-based Laer Pearce & Associates has added Ted Nguyen as account supervisor to its public affairs division. Nguyen previously was director of communications for Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Andersen.

The firm also has hired Robert Hudson Westover as senior associate. Westover served as media relations manager for Washington, D.C.-based Arnold Worldwide Partners.

ARCHITECTURE

Victor Giudici has been hired by Irvine-based Ware Malcomb as senior project architect, commercial architecture group. Giudici has more than 25 years of architecture experience and worked as project manager at Irvine-based GAA Architects.

In addition, Rudimar de Ocampo has joined the firm as senior project manager for its interiors group. De Ocampo has 15 years experience and is a faculty adviser at Brooks College Interior Design in Long Beach.

BANKING

William F. Carroll has been appointed executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief credit officer of Newport Beach-based CommerceWest Bank. Carroll recently served as executive vice president of Los Angeles-based People’s Bank of California. He will work with senior managers and oversee credit quality of the bank.

BUSINESS SERVICES

PWC & Associates has hired Scott Barbour and Jack Steiner as executive recruiters. They have more than seven years experience in finance and accounting executive search. PWC & Associates is based in Newport Beach.

Jen Long has been named project manager at Santa Ana-based J.L. Hare Associates. Long will manage the permit process for large residential projects for clients such as William Lyon Homes Inc. and Pulte Home Corp.

ENGINEERING

Robin Robinson has joined Irvine-based Fuscoe Engineering Inc. as marketing manager. Robinson will seek new business associations while maintaining the company’s existing clientele. Previously, she worked at Danielian Associates Inc., Irvine.

HEALTHCARE

Judy Uhl has been appointed vice president of patient care services at Anaheim Memorial Medical Center. Uhl is president-elect of the Association of California Nurse Leaders. She previously served as senior vice president of patient care services at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

HOTEL/RESTAURANT

Newport Beach’s Sutton Place Hotel has appointed Anthony “Tony” Zervas chef de cuisine of Accents Restaurant and The Wine Cellar. Zervas has worked at Twin Palms, Newport Beach, and was pastry chef at Rockenwagner, Santa Monica. He joined Sutton Place as chef for Accents Restaurant in 2000.

LAW

Kring & Chung LLP, Irvine, has added Paul A. Rianda as partner. Rianda joins the firm’s business and corporate department from Irvine-based E-Commerce Exchange Inc. where he was chief operation officer and general counsel since 1999.

Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott LLP has named Rick E. Rayl as equity partner in the firm’s Irvine office. Rayl specializes in civil litigation with a focus on real estate matters and corporate business disputes.

MARKETING

Irvine-based Morgan Marketing & Public Relations has promoted Janice Callado to account executive. Callado joined the firm as account coordinator, and has provided public relations and marketing services to clients including South Coast Plaza.

MUSEUMS

Jan Hextell has joined the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art, Santa Ana, as director of development and corporate relations. Hextell was director of development at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. She will work to develop corporate partnerships.

NON-PROFIT

Irvine-based Jamboree Housing Corp. has appointed Tony Arnest senior project manager. Previously, Arnest was director of apartment-building development at the Sares-Regis Group, Irvine. He will oversee affordable housing development.

The Orange County affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation, based in Costa Mesa, has announced its officers for its 2003 board of directors. Headed by Heidi Shurtleff, president, the board includes Aletha Anderson, president-elect; Kathy Yhip, secretary; Joyce Kirchhofer, treasurer and Sharon Turner, legal counsel.
