CONSTRUCTION
David R. Vadman joined Newport Beach-based Koll Construction Co. as vice president. Vadman had been a principal with two national architectural firms and vice president in the Los Angeles office of Bovis Lend Lease before joining Koll. The company also promoted Jeff Dun to regional vice president of the Newport Beach office. Dun joined Koll in 1996 as vice president of preconstruction and in 1998 headed up the company’s business development.
Brian Brown was named project manager at Pepper Construction in Irvine. Before joining Pepper, Brown was a construction manager for Pacific National Group and completed the Central Energy Plant and Central Maintenance Facility at Disney’s California Adventure.
DMK hired Michael Teague as project manager for its Tustin office. Teague’s previous assignments involved working on projects at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and White Memorial Center in Los Angeles as project manager.
James Behrens was named controller of Sukut Construction Inc., Santa Ana. Behrens previously was a senior auditor at Andersen LLP.
EDUCATION
Lynn April Hartline, deputy superintendent of the Orange County Department of Education, was elected chairman of the board of the Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union. Hartland is on the board of directors of the Discovery Science Center, and a member of Southern Counties Women in Educational Management and the Association of California School Administrators.
Concordia University in Irvine appointed Stephen D. Christensen executive vice president for university advancement and senior advisor to the president. Christensen will direct the work of the university’s foundation and build its scholarship fund.

Andres Juarez joined The MONY Group’s Life Insurance Co. and MONY Securities Corp. as a financial professional in the company’s Orange office.
FOOD SERVICE
Timothy K. Hussman was named president and chief executive officer of Sysco Newport Meat Co., a SYSCO subsidiary in Irvine. Hussman succeeds Richard A. Nicholas, who is retiring.
GOVERNMENT
Richard Gollis was elected to the Urban Land Institute Council in Orange County. The principal and founder of The Concord Group, Gollis is also a member of the National Panel Advisory Services Honorary Association.
HEALTHCARE
Steven K. Wong was named the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Division director. Wong has been interim director of environmental health since November 2000.
Lee J. Harris of PacifiCare Dental & Vision, Anaheim, was elected president of the California Association of Dental Plans for a two-year term. Harris has been with PacifiCare since 1994 and oversees quality improvement, compliance and government relations.
PMI Dental Health Plan named James Saunders dental director of the Cerritos office. Before joining the company, Saunders was dental director for PacifiCare Dental.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Workforce promoted Ron Spink to vice president, sales and business development. Spink was formerly the director of sales and marketing for the Costa Mesa firm.
Aon promoted Bruce Caldwell to West regional sales manager in the Costa Mesa office.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. hired two new associates to its staff: Sherry Seeh, account executive, and Shelly Kelly, account manager.
American Team Managers Insurance Services hired Sam Blagovich as president of commercial underwriting.

Prolong International Corp. of Irvine appointed Gregory Orlandella to its board of directors. Orlandella is the president and founder of Corporate Capital Research Inc. in Dana Point.
Meade Instruments Corp., Irvine, appointed Vern Fotheringham to its board of directors. Fotheringham is co-founder and vice chairman of Vectrad Networks.

Morgan Marketing and Public Relations in Irvine hired Kristin Brocoff as account supervisor. Brocoff was an account supervisor for Laer Pearce & Associates before joining Morgan.
BDS Marketing in Irvine promoted Heather Anderson to director of sales promotion.
Y & R; Irvine appointed Siobhan Sheridan vice president, account director for national advertising on Jaguar. Chris Arkell was promoted to vice president, account director in charge of Jaguar’s retail advertising business.
Shawn O’Hearn was appointed project manager of The Peterson Group in Newport Beach. O’Hearn will manage several clients including Waste Management and the California Integrated Waste Management Board Used Motor Oil Recycling Grant projects.
E-marcom Inc. hired Linda Buquet as interactive marketing manager. Most recently, Buquet was president of her own Internet marketing firm.
Global Exchange Marketing Inc., Mission Viejo, hired Allen Kennett as senior vice president of marketing. Allen began his career in the vacation ownership industry in 1980 and has held positions with Lawrence Welk, Tahoe Beach and Ski Resort and Winners Circle Resorts.

Shelter for the Homeless hired Marcia Stone as executive director. Stone recently moved from Seattle where she was the regional director for the National Kidney Foundation in Washington state.
