ARCHITECTURE

Charlotte, N.C.-based Little Diversified Architectural Consulting appointed Chris Wines as an associate at its Irvine office.

AUTOMOTIVE

St. Louis-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car Co. made two promotions: Simon Chan was made area manager in charge of rental offices serving Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente. Chan previously was branch manager at the company’s John Wayne Airport office. Linden Soukesian, previously a branch manager in Redlands, was named area manager for the offices serving Cypress, Garden Grove and Stanton.

BANKING

Chris Parsons joined Tustin-based Sunwest Bank as a senior vice president. Parsons brings more than a decade of experience in financial services, including posts with American Express Co. and Greenwood Village, Colo.-based First Data Corp.

Fullerton Community Bank’s board elected T. E. “Tom” Meyer to serve as chief operating officer and president. Meyer joined the bank in 1995 as chief financial officer and was promoted to chief operating officer and executive vice president in 2001.

CONSTRUCTION

Scottsdale-based Rental Service Corp., which rents construction equipment, named David L. Thompson vice president of its Western region, covering California, Oregon and Washington. Thompson will be based out of the company’s office in Santa Ana.

EDUCATION

C. Craig Carlson, cofounder of Newport Beach law firm Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, and Stanley Oftelie, chief executive of the Orange County Business Council, were appointed to the University of California, Irvine, Medical Center Executive Council, which advises the center’s senior management on business, community relations and healthcare issues.

EMPLOYMENT

Corporate Executive Search, an executive search company in Santa Ana, hired Rob Graven as managing director. Graven has 25 years of experience in the industry.

FINANCE

Beacon Pointe Advisors, an independent investment advisory firm in Newport Beach, added Paul Liu to its team.

GOVERNMENT

Dick Schermerhorn joined Newport Beach-based governmental advocacy and business development firm Christine Diemer Iger & Associates Inc. Schermerhorn brings experience from several government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the California Housing Finance Agency.

HEALTHCARE

Western Dental Services Inc., an Orange-based provider of dental care, appointed Marsha S. Gandhi as director of advertising. Prior to joining Western Dental, Gandhi served as a financial accounting specialist for Boeing Co.’s Boeing Capital Corp. in Long Beach.

INSURANCE

Irvine-based Precept, a provider of employee benefit services, added Michael Rivera as senior vice president of strategic initiatives.

MEDIA

Bette Kain, senior director of development for KOCE-TV, joined the board of directors at KKJZ 88.1 FM, a jazz station at California State University, Long Beach.

NONPROFIT

The American Lung Association of Orange County added three workers: Faith Ruperto joined as senior director of programs and services; and Darlene Gan and Ryan Crowdis joined as program coordinators.

Charles Warden, a managing director at the Newport Beach office of Menlo Park-based venture capital firm Versant Ventures, was elected to the board of Orange Coast Venture Group, a local educational and networking group.

REAL ESTATE

Brea-based ResMae Mortgage Corp. hired Tino Martinez as senior vice president, division manager. Martinez brings more than 17 years of experience in mortgage banking and most recently was regional vice president at Calabasas-based Countrywide Home Loans Inc.

Professional Community Management, a Lake Forest-based provider of community management services to homeowner associations, appointed Sherri McGillivary to the position of senior vice president, human resources. McGillivary was vice president of human resources at the company since 1997.
