ARTS

Greg Renoe was hired as director of marketing at the Laguna Beach Playhouse. Renoe most recently was marketing director for the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles where he was involved with the $17.5 million fundraising campaign and theater renovation.


AUTOMOTIVE

Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. Inc. in Irvine promoted Brett Wood to president. He previously was vice president of marketing, product and strategic planning and training operations. Wood sits on the advisory committee for the Industrial Truck Association’s general engi-

neering committee.


CONSTRUCTION

Valley Commercial Contractors LP, part of Voit Cos., promoted Jeff DeWeese to oversee all four of the company’s offices. DeWeese primarily will focus on expanding in the Orange County market.


CONSULTING

Peter Ludlum joined Costa Mesa-based Eps Corp. as chief financial officer. Ludlum previously was group controller for IsotTis SAA. Eps helps companies reduce carbon output and energy costs.


HEALTHCARE

Endologix Inc. in Irvine hired Gary Sorsher as vice president of quality. Sorsher most recently was director of quality engineering at Bard Peripheral Vascular where he oversaw quality assurance operations.

Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute in Newport Beach named Dipti Itchhaporia the Robert S. and Georgia L. Roth chair for excellence. Itchhaporia specializes in diagnostic and interventional cardiology and has been on the medical staff at Hoag Hospital since 1996.


HOTELS

Russ Mitchell was named director of sales and marketing for the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Mitchell previously was director of sales and marketing at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. In 2006 he was the Starwood Southern California/Nevada region sales leader of the year.


INSURANCE

Alta Holdings LLC in Costa Mesa hired Brian Flinchum as regional director and Thomas Foster as vice president of underwriting. Flinchum was head of the captive risk management group for Wilmington Trust Corp. before joining Alta. Foster managed six self-insured groups with total premiums of $75 million prior to joining Alta.


LAW

Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP in Irvine hired Brad Grabske and Deanna Spelber as associates. Grabske focuses on business and real estate litigation. He previously was an associate at Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott LLP. Spelber will represent clients in business and litigation cases. She previously was an associate at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP.


MARKETING

Advantage Sales and Marketing LLC in Irvine named Chris Olivier chief strategy officer. Olivier previously was chief executive for the Smollan Group SA, the largest sales and marketing agency in the southern Africa region. He helped expand the company into China, India, Malaysia and several African countries.


MEDIA

Orange County Register Communications Inc. in Santa Ana, part of Freedom Communications Inc., named Jeff Light vice president of interactive. He most recently was deputy editor of ocregister.com. The paper won two Pulitzer Prizes when he was deputy editor. Light has been with the company since 1993.


NONPROFIT

Sue Parks joined the board of the Girl Scout Council of Orange County. Parks is the chief executive of WalkStyles Inc. in Laguna Hills. She received the 2007 entrepreneur to watch award by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County.


REAL ESTATE

Linda Mamet was named corporate vice president of sales and marketing at John Laing Homes in Newport Beach. In 2007, the Building Industry Association recognized her as the Southern California re-gion’s outstanding marketing director of the year.

Cynthia Valdes joined Professional Community Management of California Inc. as general manager for the Lake Forest community association. Valdes is a certified community association manager from the California Association of Community Managers.


SERVICES

Sadie Rose Baking Co. added Therese Wootton as Orange County regional sales manager. Wootton will work in Mission Viejo servicing hotels, restaurants and caterers in Southern California.
