BANKING

Kurt A. Huisman joined Comerica Inc. as vice president and commercial banking officer at its technology and life sciences division in Costa Mesa. Huisman comes from Washington Mutual Bank where he was vice president and relationship manager.

CONSTRUCTION

Boston-based Suffolk Construction Co. hired Marv Peper as director of business development for its Western operations

at its Irvine office. Peper previously was

with Turner Construction and Barnes Construction.

EDUCATION

Kris Elftmann, president of Santa Ana-based Noelle Corporate Communications, was named chair of the Dean’s Leadership Council of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine. Elft-mann also is a trustee of the UCI Foundation.

EMPLOYMENT

PWC & Associates, an executive search firm in Newport Beach, added Halvern B. Logan as an executive recruiter.

ENGINEERING

Barbara Eljenholm, vice president of corporate affairs at Irvine-based RBF Consulting, has joined the engineering services company’s management committee. Eljenholm has been with RBF for more than two decades.

FINANCE

Larry Hedge was promoted from vice president to senior vice president and division manager at ResMae Mort-gage Corp. in Brea.

HOSPITALITY

Hilton Costa Mesa hired Lyndy Kano as business travel sales manager. Kano most recently served as leasing consultant for The Irvine Company’s Villa Siena Apartments in Irvine.

Michael Krouse was hired as vice president of West Coast sales and marketing for Arlington, Va.-based Interstate Hotels & Resorts Inc. Prior to joining, Krouse was director of sales and marketing at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

LAW

Michael A. Corfield rejoined the firm of Newmeyer & Dillion LLP as partner in its Newport Beach office. He most recently was a partner in Corfield and Rovell in Carlsbad and worked at Newmeyer & Dillion in the early 1990s.

MANUFACTURING

Irvine-based Freedom Innovations Inc., a maker of prosthetic products, hired Ken LaCroix as vice president of finance and operations. LaCroix previously was president for USA T & T; in Santa Ana.

MARKETING

Jason Derichsweiler was named systems administrator and Meghan Reynolds was named office administrative assistant at Newport Beach-based The Peterson Group. Derichsweiler previously was network administrator for a Santa Fe Springs manufacturer. Reynolds formerly was customer service representative for a mobile communications company.

MEDIA & PUBLISHING

Freedom Orange County Information, a unit of Irvine-based Freedom Communications Inc. that publishes the Orange County Register and other publications, promoted Lori Wheaton from database marketing manager to market research director.

NONPROFIT

Mike Lefkowitz was appointed to a three-year term on the board of Anaheim-based Pro-ject Tomorrow, a business and education group dedicated to science education in Orange County schools. Lefkowitz is program director of the Samueli Foundation and serves at a number of OC groups.

The Alzheimer’s Association Orange County Chapter appointed Jim McAleer as executive director at its Irvine headquarters. McAleer recently served as president of McAleer & Associates, a nonprofit consultant.

Adam Salis, real estate department chairman at the Irvine office of Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger, was appointed to the board of Goodwill Industries of Orange County.

REAL ESTATE

Arnel Development Co. in Costa Mesa, part of Arnel and Affiliates, named Dwight Belden executive vice president. Belden formerly was in acquisitions at Wattson Brevast.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based FarStone Technology Inc., a developer of security software, appointed Thomas Fedro as vice president of sales and marketing. Fedro formerly was general manager and vice president of several units at Fidelity National Financial Inc.

Ed Ginty was named to the new position of executive vice president of business development at VLSystems Inc., a software and computer service company in Irvine.
