PEOPLE

ARCHITECTURE

Hwa Wang was promoted to senior associate at Santa Ana-based HRP LanDesign, a landscape architecture and planning firm. He will manage landscaping projects for resorts, masterplanned communities, apartments and condominiums and urban infill projects.

BANKING

Newly opened MetroPacific Bank in Irvine named John Chung senior vice president for commercial real estate and Grady Kjesbo senior vice president and manager. Chung most recently was assistant vice president at the Newport Beach office of California National Bank. Kjesbo comes from the Orange County production office of Sunrise Bank of San Diego.

Marty Kramer was named vice president of loan production at the Newport Beach branch of Rancho Santa Margarita-based South County Bank. Kramer brings more than three decades of construction and commercial lending experience.

ENGINEERING

RBF Consulting added Jeffrey Fromhertz as senior project manager in the transportation and public works department at its Irvine headquarters. Fromhertz brings more than 20 years of experience to the position.

Robert Douglass was promoted from president of First American Flood Data Services to chief financial officer at First American’s Mortgage Information Services Group. Vicki Chenault was promoted from senior vice president of operations to president of First American Flood Data Services. Both units fall under First American Real Estate Information Services Inc., part of Santa Ana-based First American Corp.

FINANCE

Rodney Richerson was promoted to director of asset management at Newport Beach-based KBS Realty Advisors where he also is set to serve as a member of the executive committee. Richerson joined the firm 11 years ago.

LAW

Hart, King & Coldren promoted Andrew C. Kienle and John “Jock” A. Marlo III to partners at the Santa Ana office. Bret K. Adams, Christine A. Banchich, David A. Gerlt and Ashish A. Patel also joined the firm at the same office.

Carlo Van den Bosch was named partner at the Costa Mesa office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP where he is a member of the intellectual property practice group.

MARKETING

The Peterson Group named Karen Gaertt-ner executive assistant at its Newport Beach headquarters.

Eliza Rutel was named junior account executive at Irvine-based Brower, Miller & Cole. Prior to joining the firm, Rutel was employed at Santa Barbara’s ABC affiliate, KEYT Channel 3.

San Clemente-based Kanatsiz Communica-tions Inc. added Shan-non Widor as director of public affairs. Widor comes from M4 Strategies in Costa Mesa where he managed media and public affairs campaigns.

NONPROFIT

Karen Carlsen, chief executive of Laguna Beach-based National Rewards Inc., was elected to the board of the Orange County chapter of the American Society of Training and Development in Anaheim as vice president of membership.

PUBLIC POLICY

Thomas McKernan, president and chief executive of the Automobile Club of Southern California, was named chairman of the California Business Roundtable. McKernan, a long-serving member of the group, also is on the boards of the California Chamber of Commerce, Blue Shield of California, Payden & Rygel Mutual Funds and Forest Lawn Memorial Parks Assoc-iation. He succeeds Richard Kovacevich, chairman and chief executive of Wells Fargo & Co.

SERVICES

REMM-China, a unit of Anaheim-based the REMM Group, named Lorie Penniman president. REMM-China specializes in site location and introduction of U.S.-based retailers to China.

TECHNOLOGY

John Pepper was promoted from senior sales executive to national sales director and Candide Lopez was promoted from practice manager and principal consultant to director of services at Axion Solution. The Irvine-based company resells software from PeopleSoft Inc., now part of Oracle Corp.
