ARCHITECTURE

Patricia Spielberg joined Ware & Malcomb Architects Inc., Irvine, as senior designer for WMA’s Interiors Group. Before joining Ware & Malcomb, Spielberg was an in-house project coordinator for The Capital Group Companies.


BANKING AND FINANCE

PureMarkets Corp. named Walter Buttkus director of sales in its Orange offices. Buttkus was previously vice president for GE Capital in Beverly Hills. PureMarkets is an online marketplace for commercial equipment finance.


LAW

Douglas “Chip” Rawlings joined Morrison & Foerster in Irvine as partner in the litigation department. Formerly a partner and co-founder of the litigation firm Belin Rawlings & Badal, Rawlings will continue his litigation practice in the areas of real estate, financial institutions, intellectual property, environmental and securities class actions.


HEALTHCARE

Jacqueline Cherewick, president and CEO of the Huntington Beach Community Clinic, was appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to the CalOPTIMA board of directors. Cherewick is the first director to be selected from the community-based health centers in Orange County. CalOPTIMA operates the health system for the Medi-Cal program in Orange County.


MARKETING

Point B Inc., Newport Beach, hired Angela Arthur as an account supervisor. Before joining Point B, Arthur was an account supervisor for the Y & R Companies, overseeing owner communications for the Lincoln and Mercury automotive accounts.


ORGANIZATIONS

Joe Ingre was elected by the Orange County Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth as president for 2000-2001. Inge has been a member of ACG for five years and was previously president-elect and membership vice president.

The American Heart Association has named six new members to its Orange County board of directors. Mara Bennett, Luis Berga, Scott Browning, Riva P. Gebel, Douglas Lyle, Cheryl Schaffer and Jon Wampler will serve on the board for the 2000-2001 term.

Stacey Proctor has been named president and executive director of The Blind Children’s Learning Center in Santa Ana. Proctor has an extensive background in fundraising and nonprofit management. BCLC’s mission is to develop the full potential of children and youth with visual impairments, regardless of the ability to pay.

Jeannie Burns was appointed by the Girl Scout Council of Orange County as executive director and CEO. Burns, who has a 17-year management career with scouting, held the same position with the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, which serves San Bernardino and Riverside counties.


REAL ESTATE

Orange Coast Title Co., Santa Ana, has appointed Thomas J. Baron to the company’s board of directors. Baron is the president and sole stockholder in Re/Max Premier Realty, Irvine Home Loans Inc. and Brickstone Escrow Inc.

Malcolm O’Donnell has joined CarrAmerica Realty in Costa Mesa as senior vice president and managing director. Before joining the company, O’Donnell was principal of Alpine Holdings and Keller Equity Group Inc. O’Donnell will be responsible for CarrAmerica’s 62-building portfolio in the Southern California region.

David Eagle joined the Newport Beach office of Grubb & Ellis Co. as senior vice president in the multifamily investment group. Eagle, who has more than 23 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, previously consulted on and co-brokered the sale of a $136 million multifamily portfolio of property in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.


TECHNOLOGY

Efinity Inc., Aliso Viejo, announced the addition of Jim Forquer, a specialist in supply chain consulting, Tom Haggin, founder of Sybase, and Zak Kong, founder of NetSoft, to its advisory council. The company also appointed Charles W. McBrayer, former CFO of PairGain Technologies Inc., to its board of directors.

Donald Huey has been named customer service manager for Santa Ana-based ITT Industries, Cannon. Huey’s experience includes more than 20 years in customer service, administration, operations, marketing, sales and finance. Prior to joining Cannon, he was the director of customer service for Hill Corp., where he managed administrative operations.

David A. Watson has been appointed CIO at Enfrastructure, Aliso Viejo. Prior to joining the company, Watson was the CIO of Edwards Lifesciences.

NexTier Solutions Corp., Irvine, a developer of Internet-based supply chain management software for the printing and publishing market, has named Mark A. Townsell vice president of software development. Townsell’s expertise includes the development of systems-level software as well as application programs. Townsell worked for 21 years at Irvine-based MAI Systems Corp.

William A. Garland joined Irvine-based Atairgin Technologies Inc. as the company’s vice president of scientific affairs. In that position, he will oversee all R & D; and regulatory activities associated with the company’s diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Garland has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience, and was executive vice president of pharmaceutical development at Centaur Pharmaceuticals.

IPNet Solutions Inc., Newport Beach, a provider of business-to-business connectivity, has appointed Nicholas Brox to senior vice president of worldwide sales and Craig Stavert to vice president of North American sales. Brox was formerly senior vice president of sales and marketing at Peregrine Systems. Stavert has held sales management positions at ParcPlace-Digitalk, Peregrine Systems and On-Line Software International.

Judy Weber was named director of customer service at Thomson-CSF Sextant In-Flight Systems in Irvine. Before joining the company, Weber was director of technical and fleet support for customer aviation services at Boeing/McDonnell Douglas. While there, she developed and coordinated maintenance reliability programs and provided engineer support for technical inquires.

Santa Ana-based Microsemi Corp. appointed two vice presidents: Manuel Lynch, vice president of marketing and business development; and John Holtrust, vice president of human resources. Lynch has been with the company for five years; Holtrust previously worked at GE Aircraft, Intersil/Harris Semiconductor and Silicon Systems.
