Don Marks was promoted to principal-in-charge of the Irvine office of architectural company International Parking Design Inc. Marks has been with the company for nine years and has more than 20 years of experience. International Parking Design focuses on parking design and consulting.
AUTOMOTIVE
Irvine’s Toyota Material Handling USA Inc., the forklift arm of Toyota Motor Corp., named Brett Wood vice president of marketing, product planning and dealer development. Wood is responsible for product and strategic planning, marketing, dealer development and market representation.
BANKING
Pacific Coast National Bank added Morton Braver as vice president and commercial loan officer at its San Clemente office. Braver brings more than 36 years of lending expertise to Pacific Coast. He’s set to oversee commercial and personal loans, residential lending and lines of credit.
EDUCATION
The California County Boards of Education named John W. Bedell vice president. Bedell is a professor at California State University, Fullerton, and is chairman of the university’s academic senate. He is set to meet with legislators in Sacramento twice a month to discuss bills and issues that could affect education.
ENGINEERING
Irvine-based engineering, land planning, surveying and landscape architecture firm Hall & Foreman Inc. hired Jules Miller as general council. Miller is set to oversee the firm’s legal issues, contract review, negotiation and risk management.
HOTELS
The Island Newport Beach appointed Michael J. Owens as its head pastry chef. Owens oversees bakery operations for two restaurants, banquet services and room service.
LAW
Michael T. Hornak has been elected managing partner of Costa Mesa- based Rutan & Tucker LLP. Hornak has been with the firm since 1981 and is a partner in the trial section.
O’Melveny & Myers LLP named Brett Williamson as managing partner of its Newport Beach office. Williamson represents technology companies in intellectual property matters. Andor D. Terner also was named partner. Terner is a corporate lawyer whose specialties include mergers and acquisitions and public offerings.
Newport Beach-based law firm Newmeyer & Dillion LLP named Charles S. Krolikowski and Jeffry M. Dennis partners. In addition, the firm’s partner Mark Himmelstein was named to the board of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Orange County chapter.
MARKETING
Tawny Pham was hired as senior production artist at Costa Mesa-based Roxburgh Agency. Pham will be responsible for generating digital mechanical art for advertising and collateral materials, as well as assisting in the design and programming of Web sites and e-marketing materials.
REAL ESTATE
Scott Monroe, Irvine-based Sares-Regis Group’s property manager and senior vice president, is the president-elect of the California Apartment Association. Monroe oversees management and operations of Sares-Regis’ Southern California portfolio.
Steve Cameron was promoted to chief operating officer of California operations for Newport Beach-based homebuilder and developer Fieldstone Communities Inc. Cameron is responsible for managing operations for the California region, including Orange County, San Diego, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
Tim Kihm joined South Coast Communities as vice president. Kihm will be responsible for land acquisition, planning and entitlement. South Coast Communities is a land development company based in Tustin.
