ACCOUNTING

Cheryl J. Schaffer was promoted to tax partner in addition to her position as director of estates and trusts at Wright, Ford, Young & Co. in Irvine.

BANKING

MetroPacific Bank in Irvine named Robert B. Hildt as president, chief executive and director. Tim Peralta was named executive vice president and real estate manager. Hildt brings more than three decades of banking experience, primarily in senior management positions of community banks. Peralta formerly was director of land acquisition and finance at Parkside Homes in Fort Collins, Colo.

HEALTHCARE

HealthSouth Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital appointed Scott Rifkin as chief executive and Ann Lewis as director of marketing operations. Rifkin formerly was director of clinical support services at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana. Lewis has served in marketing and human resources in the healthcare industry.

LAW

Suzanne V. Chamberlain was elected chairwoman for 2005 by The Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Orange County Bar Association. Chamberlain is a member of the Newport Beach law firm of Chamberlain and Viau.

Snell & Wilmer LLP named Jorge Martinez to partner at its Irvine office. Martinez practices general business litigation, with a concentration in product liability defense.

Craig S. Mordock became partner at the Irvine office of Morrison & Foerster. Mordock joined the firm in 1998 and is a member of its corporate group.

MANUFACTURING

Santa Ana-based Arlon Inc., a unit of Florida’s Bairnco Corp., added Karine Gulati as assistant manager of research and development and Kimberley Jones as marketing communications specialist. Gulati most recently was new product development project manager at W.L. Gore & Associates. Jones formerly was digital application specialist at Eastman Kodak Co.’s graphics division.

NONPROFIT

The CHOC Padrinos, which supports Children’s Hospital of Orange County and CHOC at Mission, named five new board members for three-year terms: Brian Cotter, regional account manager at Pace Micro Technology; David Elliott, associate vice president for university relations at Vanguard University; John Nelson, with the Casey Group; Debra Ann Nickel, family member of Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel Wineries; and Tammy Jager Peasley, senior partner at Stephan, Oringher, Richman & Theodora.

Richard Dutch and Greg Dunlap were added to the board of Orangewood Children’s Foundation, each for a three-year term. Dutch is president of Sterling Medical Products in Irvine. Dunlap is a partner in tax services with Deloitte and Touche in Costa Mesa.

The Orange County Forum re-elected Jane Samson, partner at Newport Beach-based Newmeyer & Dillion LLP, as president for a second consecutive year. The forum is a non-partisan current affairs group.

REAL ESTATE

Louis Garday was named senior vice president and tax director at Irvine-based New Century Financial Corp., a subprime mortgage lender.

Toll Brothers Inc. appointed Dennis Cisterna III as land acquisition manger for the Inland Empire region. He will work from the company’s Orange office. Cisterna currently serves as chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group and on the executive committee of the Institute’s Inland Empire District Council.

Bill Kearns and Perry Schonfeld were named as principals at the Irvine headquarters of LBA Realty. Kearns has been with the company for 10 years. Schonfeld’s been at LBA for eight years.

Snyder Langston made three changes to its executive team at its Irvine corporate headquarters: founder Bill Langston was named chairman emeritus; Stephen Jones was promoted from president to chairman; and John Rochford was promoted from executive vice president and chief operating officer to president and chief operating officer.

Carlton Trimm was added as an associate at the Newport Beach office of Encino-based NAI Capital Commercial. He will deal in industrial properties in Orange County and the Temecula Valley.
