Foothill Ranch-based Wet Seal Inc. and Anaheim’s Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. reported same-store sales gains in November.
Wet Seal said sales at stores open at least a year rose 51.5% in the month, versus a year earlier. Total sales for the November rose 22.3% to $41.3 million.
The young women’s retailer has closed more than 100 unprofitable stores and revamped its management during the past year. It now operates 309 Wet Seal stores and 93 Arden B. stores.
Meanwhile, Pacific Sunwear said its total same-store sales rose 3% in November.
Same-store sales at the retailer’s dominant PacSun surfwear chain increased 2.7%. The company’s d.e.m.o. unit, which sells urban-style clothing, saw same-store sales rise 4.9%.
Pacific Sunwear’s total November sales rose 12.1% to $107.3 million.
