Newport Beach-based Pacific Life Insurance Co. has extended its sponsorship of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl college football matchup through 2009.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Pacific Life has been the game’s title sponsor since 2002. It previously had a deal to sponsor the annual game through 2005.
“The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl consistently outperforms other ESPN bowl games in ratings and is virtually assured a marquee matchup year after year,” said Bob Haskell, senior vice president of public affairs for Pacific Life.
This year’s Holiday Bowl, scheduled for 5 p.m. on Dec. 29, is set to feature the runner-up from the Pacific-10 Conference and the third-place finisher from the Big 12 Conference.
The game is played at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
