Orange County’s Pacific Symphony has set its first concert tour abroad for next year in Europe.
“An international tour is a litmus test for a symphony orchestra as it grows and develops artistically,” said Carl St. Clair, the Pacific Symphony’s music director.
The tour is set to start a year from now in Munich and includes nine cities and three countries, concluding with a performance at Vienna’s Wiener Konzerthaus.
The tour is the first of any kind, either abroad or domestically, for the symphony since its 1978 founding.
The symphony is previewing some of the music planned for the tour during its current season at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
