Oncotech Inc. isn’t your average medical testing company. Or your average drug maker, for that matter.
The Tustin-based maker of cancer testing products and drug developer has attracted one of the biggest names in science: Nobel.
Earlier this year, Tustin-based Oncotech added Dr. Michael Nobel, a descendant of Nobel Prize founder Alfred Nobel, to its board.
Nobel, a Swedish-born, Swiss national, is chairman of the Nobel Family Society and sits on the boards of several,mainly healthcare,companies.
Nobel said his interest in medical advances led him to Oncotech, quipping that “medicine can be anything from beauty operations to cancer treatments.”
Oncotech, which was founded in the late 1980s, operates in two worlds.
“Our bridge is tying the diagnostic to the appropriate therapies,” said Frank Kiesner, the company’s longtime chief executive.
