Women’ Sports Services, a Huntington Beach sports-marketing company, has added more backers to its roster.
The company recently started the Women in Sports Careers Foundation to provide girls and women guidance, education and support in career development. CEO Becky Heidesch said the company has signed Fountain Valley-based Hyundai Motor America and Alta Dena Certified Dairy, Industry, to support the non-profit foundation. Alta Dena will feature the foundation on its milk cartons.
In addition, the Huntington Beach company has made its first foray into athlete representation, signing Olympic softball gold medalist Sheila Cornell-Douty. Cornell-Douty and another Olympian, soccer player Tisha Venturini, have also agreed to co-author two books on the challenges and experiences of being a female athlete. A percentage of the book proceeds will be donated to the WISC Foundation.
