Orange County’s unemployment rate fell to 3.7% in November, the state Employment Development Department said Friday.
The county’s unemployment rate was 3.8% in October and 3.9% a year ago.
Total nonfarm payroll employment was up 1.4%, or 20,400 jobs, compared to a year earlier.
The professional and business services sector gained the most local jobs since last year, with 9,900 new workers. The information sector, which includes technology and telecommunications, lost 900 workers.
California’s unemployment rate was 5.1% in November, down from 6% a year ago.
