OC Makes Lender’s ‘Worst’ List; Loretta Eyes Governor Race

Mortgage brokers are buzzing over the latest bad news for the local housing market: Wells Fargo has designated all of OC and L.A. as “severely distressed”,putting the two counties in the same bottom category with San Diego and the Inland Empire. Wells becomes the first major lender in OC to completely eliminate stated income, stated asset (“liar”) loans, even for highly qualified borrowers. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez may not have to break a sweat to get re-elected to a seventh term this fall, but the Garden Grove Democrat is considering a much tougher run,for governor. “I hope to at some point,” Sanchez said on “Inside OC” about running for the state’s top job.
