More than 8,000 bridge players will be descending on the Anaheim Marriott and Hilton Anaheim hotels this week for the 11-day North American Bridge Championships, but two are of particular note: “Bill Gates has indicated he will play in Anaheim with partner Warren Buffet, fulfilling his passion for the most popular card game in the world,” says David Silber, CEO of the American Contract Bridge League, which conducts the tournament It’s back to square one for former county DA Michael Capizzi, who is trying to build a general practice. Capizzi, who has office space at the law firm of Mayer and Coble in Long Beach, has teamed with Fountain Valley lawyer Bruce Bridgman on ads in local foreign-language newspapers and phone directories. One ad seeks cases in criminal defense (“misdemeanors such as shoplifting to felonies like assault and financial fraud”), family law, immigration, bankruptcy and personal injury (“traffic collisions and all other types of accidents, such as falls at a supermarket or workers’ compensation.”).
