New Century Financial Corp. announced Friday the opening of a 100,000-square-foot mortgage servicing center in Santa Ana.
The Irvine-based subprime lender said the facility, at 1610 St. Andrews Place, houses 370 of the company’s 2,000 workers in the county. Most of its employees are located in Irvine.
From Santa Ana, the company tracks activity on more than 216,000 loans totaling about $39 billion.
The goal: keep borrowers current on their payments.
Last month, the company received nearly 120,000 calls and made about 50,000 calls. New Century is hiring in Santa Ana, the company said.
