Morgan Stanley Up on Earnings

Morgan Stanley Inc. on Wednesday took another step closer to fulfilling Chief Executive John Mack’s pledge of a financial turnaround, posting second-quarter profit that more than doubled on stronger trading, underwriting and investment gains. The company’s shares soared more than 4% to their biggest one-day gain this year.
