There is some evidence Orange County’s housing market is letting up on the accelerator, according to a report Monday.
The county’s median home price of $601,000 in July was down $2,000 from June, according to La Jolla-based market tracker DataQuick Information Systems. Still, prices were up 14.5% from a year earlier.
Last summer the market hit a bit of a snag as buyers reacted to high prices and concern over rising interest rates.
Buyers were active, with 4,341 homes sold in July, up 3.5% compared to a year earlier.
DataQuick said the median price for a house sold in July was $665,000,a record,up 15.7% from a year ago. The median for condominiums hits $435,000, up 13.6% from the prior year, but down slightly from June.
