Irvine telescope maker Meade Instruments Corp.’s loss outlook for the 12 months ended Feb. 28 just got a little better.
The company said Monday it expects a loss of about $800,000 for the 12 months, down from an earlier projection of up to $2 million.
But Meade said it expects sales of $112 million for the period, down from an earlier projection of about $120 million.
The company’s results are due April 21.
The lower sales projection was due to what Chief Executive Steven G. Murdock called “continuing softness in the U.S. telescope market.”
The lessened loss was due to better management of costs, he said.
