L.K. Eric Prevette is The Irvine Company’s new executive vice president of resort properties

L.K. Eric Prevette, a 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has joined The Irvine Company as executive vice president of resort properties, reporting to Clarence Barker, group president of investment properties.

The appointment signals a stepped up emphasis by the company on its resort holdings, which consist of the Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach and the Hyatt Regency Irvine, the Pelican Hill and Oak Creek golf courses and nearly 500 boat slips in the Newport Harbor marina.

Until now those properties were the responsibility of a vice president with other duties, as well.

Prevette’s will oversee renovation projects at the Four Seasons and Hyatt Regency in the next year.

Since 1998, Prevette was president and chief executive of Olympus Hospitality Group in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he oversaw 12 owned or managed hotels and 70 franchised hotels.

Earlier jobs included co-managing director of Unique Hotels & Resorts, co-chairman of International Windsor Group and the Bel-Air Hotel Management Company, senior vice president for finance and development at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and senior vice president and corporate controller for Southland Financial Corporation.

He has an accounting and finance degree from High Point College in North Carolina and a master’s of business administration from the University of Texas.
